I have this Sony KV-32s40. its about 5-6 years old and its been working fine until last year. It started off just turning its off while watching the set. So we took it to the repair guy and he let it run all day until it will turn off itself but it never did. So, he said he didnt see the problem. Took it back and it did the samething. took it to the repair guy and he said nothing wrong with it. took it back and been running good until this morning. Now there is No Sound and No picture. But you do here the click noise when u turn it on and the standby red light flashes all the time. What should i do? I opened the back to see if it was dust problem and cleaned it out with those air dust remover cans. Didnt do a thing. What you guys think is the problem?
Somewhere a repair man answered that he recently re-soldered the vertical output IC points - but that problem TV only lacked picture and DID have sound
I have a KV-32S40; it also has no picture, no sound, and the red light also flashes.
I called a local service man - he claimed that the nonstop flashing light indicated a bad tube.

Intermittent problems can usuall be liked to bad solder connections. And sony typically has some that will develop after a few years in the power supply. so check for bad sodler connections throught the main board & give a close look to the power supply & check you work after to make sure you have no shorted pins. good luck.
