Dark horizontal line

likely coming from main board which is involved in all signal---on screen display comes directly from a different area---4 years is about the life span of one of these sets---Google the model number with parts to see which boards it uses and what they sell for.

I have a RCA 32V432T 36in...the screen is light blue with white horizontal lines...it looks like a film in front of the actual picture...there is still audio though. what's going on?

Hello
There are two main causes for this fault. The first one is, advanced screen voltage to the screen grid of picture tube. The second one is leaky blue video output transisotr.
Just open your TV, and locate the screen control. It usually can be located with LOT [Line Output Transformer]. There will be two adjustable controls integrated to this LOT, marked as screen and focus. Out of which, the lower one will be for screen adjustment, and the upper one for focus adjustment. Just rotate the screen control [the lower one] to a little counterclockwise, so that the thin horoizontal lines on the screen just fade of. Adjustment is critical and should be done with care, and a small movement may just be enough. If it does not help you, repalce the blue video output transistor. This part can be located at the bace card [the printed circuit board fitted to the neck of the picture tube]. Locate it, replace it. OK.

Wavy horizontal lines on bottom of RCA 36in Truflat TV

The convergance or y-sus board can become faulty. The capcitors do tend to burn out. It is about a $250 + repair for this. Not all parts can be repaired, but they can be replaced. A capacitor tester and multi-meter are about the best tools for the job. If the price you get is over $250, I simply would replace it instead of repairing it..

Philips tv 27PT6441/37 horizontal lines about 3in wide on top of the screen.

I'm having the same issue with this TV! From the top of the screen to about two/three inches below there are thousands of horizontal lines with a whitish tinge which seem to be reflecting what is just below these lines! I’ve never seen this issue on any TV ever! From what I am seeing now is that many people are having this issue and more! We should put a class action lawsuit against them! If anyone knows anything, please post the info. Many tech forums are loaded with issues for these TV’s but this issue seems to be prominent!

My mom had two Phillips TV’s; one just under two years, and the other just under a year and Phillips refused to fix either without a large expenditure on her behalf. She told me never to buy Phillips and I should have listened. Phillips used to be a great company so I don’t really know what has happened? This was a TV for my Grandmother and it wasn't at a bad price not to mention the picture was great albeit severely over scanned.

As for her TV, we had it about two weeks over a year and Phillips said there was nothing they could do! They said they would pay for the cost to replace the tube if I took it to one of their dealers but they said the cost to bring it there and repair would fall on me! Also if the issue was not related to the tube I would have to pay everything OOP! The lady laughed on the phone and said even if it had been under six months or under a year they would still only pay to fix the parts and everything else would cost me! WTF?

The moral of the story is NEVER BUY PHILLPS/MAGNOVOX EVER! You might be getting the TV deal of the century but it is not worth it in the long run. I originally thought my mom was nuts, but now looking back considering the issues others are having, and realizing the **** poor way Phillips support deals with ALL problems, they’re simply not worth the money or trouble. I WILL NEVER buy another Phillips, Magnavox, or Funai product ever again, whether it is a TV, clock, DVD player, and/or ANY electronic device! If you do you HAVE BEEN WARNED and WILL BE SORRY!

Losing picture on tv!

The ITC008 chassis is commonly riddled with poor solder connections. Good soldering station, patience and some good light and magnification and you might be able to fix it... Or you could spend a few dollars and run it into the shop and have a tech do it! It's not an expensive repair.

Phillips/Magnavox 9P5544C102 white raster and shuts down

This denotes a problem called blooming the horizontal lines you see are called retrace lines this is caused by the increase in anode voltage which could be caused by an increase in HV section current which trips the overcurrent protection dircuit and turns the TV off.If you do not have electronics experience I would suggest taking the set to a TV repair shop.
