The door latch will not realease on the GE WSXh208 washer

I replaced the door latch with the replacement part from GE closed the door and the 'alarm' sounded stating the door was not closed when I attempted to open and reclose the door lock/release would not release. the lock light is off but still will not open- as I tried to pull the door it started to separate so I stopped. I cannot locate any schematics online to assist in opening the unit to try and fogure out how to release the door.

SOURCE: GE front load washer WSXH208v1ww door latch

Unfortunately, the "door latch assembly" is what you would need. It comes with a new concrete front tub counter weight which is redesigned to not be able to contact the door latch switch on out of balance spins. It is also a lot of work to replace. (you can not get just the little plastic part) Please don't rate this solution, as anything but a Fix-Ya lowers my score, and I know you don't want to shoot the messenger.

SOURCE: GE model WHDVH626FWW Front load washer won't run, can't open door

your drain pump is likely clogged, and is equipped with a clean out port. remove lower cover by 3 phillips screws on bottom front. you see the drain pump up front to the right. If there is a lot of water left in machine then have bucket/pan avail and plenty of towels. wet dry shop vac helps. you can open door and remove clothes from here. reach up on right side to where the latch is on inside (you have to go by feel) and find small round pull tab on bottom of latch/lock asm, and pull down, this will unlock door. carefull of water level when opening door.
to fix problem, unscrew cap on pump asm. water will pour out, and a tray will slide out with debris clogging pump. look inside housing for remaining ****. using finger check impeller area on right..
reassemble. machine should work perfect now. Pump is designed to be cleaned out and will not void warranty. newer machines have access port cut in panel for this clean out area.

Probably a relay that you heard clicking. from what you described sounds like it's just a SPST(single pole single throw) switch and nearly impossible to hook up wrong. Good luck!

Driver door closed but door alarm and lock keep going off?

Sounds like the door latch is not closing all the way, Try spraying some WD40 into the latch in the door where it hits the striker post. Hold the door handle up and bump the door shut and open while holding the handle up on the out side several times, This should loosen the latch up and the door should close and latch. The more you spray and work the door the better it should get. If not the latching mechanisim may need replaced. I hope I have help you sovle the alarm problem.

Ge front loading washer door won't unlock

Some machines do this when the power is cut, there should be what looks like a screw heat on the front of the handle which will allow you to unlock the door and open it. If there is still water inside you will need to empty the machine first. There is usually a hatch at the bottom of the unit, open this hatch and you will find a cap to unscrew, unscrewing this cap will empty the contents of the machine onto your floor so be prepared!!!!!

GE WSXH208 Washer - Filter is CLEAN - Could it be the Control Circuit Board? Live in a condo where many residents have this washer and experienced the same problem. Final spin never kicks in fully...

Hi this either a speed control board which is located in the bottom of the washer, or a bad latch assembly on the front where the door latches into, the board is the more expensive of the 2 but usually the board is the problem. there is not a very easy test for either one, one quick test for the latch is if you start the washer and it locks the door and you let it run 2 mins or so and then turn the washer back off how quickly can you open the door? 10 sec? or like 30-40sec? If its like 5-10secs you have a bad latch. Otherwise i would lean towards a bad board. The board is about 125-150.00.

I close washer door but it wont go through cycle

Check to see if one of the two tabs on the door latch assembly are broken. If one is broken, replace the door latch. If the door latch is ok, you might have to replace the door switch and the door latch. To replace the door switch you have to remove the front panel. Remove the two screws holding the door switch assembly in place and drop the door switch assembly down into the bottom of the washer. Remove the wires and transfer to the new switch. Reach up and line up the new switch and install the two screws. Remove the two screws on the door latch assembly on the door, and remove old door latch. Install the new latch and replace the front panel. I hope this helps.

I have a GE dishwasher model GSD1100G and the door will not latch now. Any ideas?

Yessir, I have a few.
1. Check the latch and strike. Usually, they're just loose.
2. Check the wiring to the switch. The lock and latch take a good bit of vibration being opened and closed.
3. Take a good look at the latch for physical damage. It happens. Your only recourse here is probably to replace the latch.
4. You didn't mention if the washer would run; the door latch is a permissive switch - if the washer will run, the switch is making contact, but the latch is defective. If it won't run, either the latch switch is bad, or the issue may be the control panel.
Best regards, --W/D--
