I have a ts-5545 big screen tv. The picture goes out and we can still get the sound. Shut it off for a bit and then the picture will come back on. What is the problem?

You need a professional.
Stop using the TV until it is repaired.
Continue to use it and your problems will multiply and grow more expensive.
Call the manufacturer to find you nearest authorized service center.

A couple of things:
1) Either a bad power supply or a flyback 'supplies the high voltage to the 3 CRT's' .
2) The HOT 'High Output Transistor' is gone bad or the leads 'solder joints' have cracked and are not making a good connection.
time to get it into the shop or have a tech come to your residence to look at it.
Good possibility of getting it fixed.
