SOURCE: toshiba satellite L300 wont boot

hi thanks for using fixya!

I suggest that if you could do a full scan (anti-virus) to your system. Then, do the disk defragmenter on all your drives, especially the system drive.

the last option is to reformat your system/laptop.

If you need further assistance, let me know.

pls rate me positively! thanks!

SOURCE: Set my Toshiba Satellite Laptop PSA60U-01W015 to it Factory Sett?

some of these systems have the factory restore option on post boot before the OS kicks in. From a cold boot look for the hit DEL or Fx key and do that - you may have to boot a few times to catch it, and possibly hold the defined key down in anticipation of the option to appear on what looks like a DOS screen. You may need the recovery discs that came wit the system if the image is not in a hidden partition of your drive. Good luck.

Toshiba laptop restarting

The loop on your Toshiba Satellite laptop refers to the computer not booting properly.

During the loop, the computer will try to boot the Windows operating system and keep restarting over and over again.

This is not a hardware issue with your Toshiba Satellite A106.

The issue resides in the startup files on your computer's hard drive.

You can fix this by running a repair tool that comes with your Windows operating system.

This repair tool will fix your startup disk and allow you to get your computer back up and running.

Insert your Windows 7 installation disc into your computer's optical drive.

Start your computer and wait for it to boot from the install disc.

Choose your language from the menu and then click the "Next" button.

Click "Repair your computer" from the menu.

Choose the operating system you are using and then click the "Next" button.

Click on the "Disable Automatic Restart On System Failure" button to disable the startup loop.

Click the "Startup Repair" tool from the menu and wait for the computer to fix your startup disk.

Wait for the computer to finish repairing your startup disk and then allow it to restart automatically.

Wait for the computer to boot correctly to your login screen.

Hope this helps

hi Mike.
this is all i could find.
Try the following...

1. Power off the laptop.
2. Power on the laptop.
3. As soon as you see the rotating loading circle, press and hold the Power Button until the computer shuts off.
4. Repeat this process a few times until you see the "Preparing Automatic Repair" screen.
5. Now you want to let the laptop boot to the "Automatic Repair" screen.
6. Click "Advanced Options" and then select "Troubleshoot".
7. Here you want to select "Refresh your PC", if you do not wish to erase data, or "Reset your PC" to erase all data and restore your system.
8. From here just follow the screen instructions until the recovery is completed.

NOTE: You will need to get into the "Advanced Options" in order to get the "Refresh Option". This choice will keep your data, but any programs installed will be lost.

Do not do a "Reset" as that will wipe all data you have on the laptop.

How to unlock a toshiba laptop

  • Restart the laptop and try logging back in using the new password.

  • Log on without the Windows XP installer. If you don't have a Windows bootable CD, use another computer with internet access so you can create an emergency recovery disk (ERD) that will allow you to unlock a Toshiba laptop. Browse through the internet and search for ERD software.

  • Burn the ERD program into the blank CD and use it to reboot the Toshiba laptop that you want to unlock. The computer will automatically detect the program, so it will take you to a series of prompts where you can change your password.

Computer wont start up cause bootmgr is missing im on my brohers computer

You can try to Repair your Windows using the Windows installation CD (for Repair choose R when prompted). You can let the automatic repair to try and fix it, if that doesn't work upon restart reboot and start the Repair again, but this time select Command Prompt or Console and put in "bootrec /rebuildbcd" without the quotes. If you don't have Windows installation CD you can try downloading Hiren's Boot CD and try to fix the bootmgr with the utilities from the disc: http://www.hirensbootcd.org/download/

I can not log to my account on my laptop and login passward is also correct but it shows only loading on screen

I suspect a problem with windows Hit the F8 key during start up of windows and choose safe mode then log on, also log on to admin acct just in case your acct does not have admin rights to check device drivers and the logs in windows, of interest would be the applications log very useful in
finding problems. if that fails use the recovery console during boot or boot from the recovery CD and choose to fix windows.
