do any of the controls show on tv? there is a video connection on the back of yamaha marked 'moniter out' and to get the on screen display, you must first have your tv connected to that video output.

Displaying the icons on Desktop.

To resolve this behavior, turn on the Show Desktop Icons feature:
Right-click the desktop.
Point to Arrange Icons By.
Click/check Show Desktop Icons

Using the Desktop Context Menu
1. Right-click the desktop, point to View, and then click Show Desktop Icons.
2. A check mark will appear, indicating that desktop icons are displayed on your desktop.

It sounds like you are displaying some or all formatting marks.

As shown on Microsoft Website:

1. Click the Microsoft Office Button , and then click Word Options.
2. Click Display.
3. Under Always show these formatting marks on the screen, clear the check boxes for any formatting marks that you do not want to show in your documents at all times.

right click to my computer goto harware tab click to the device manager then see in the DVD/CD ROMS check if their is an exclamation mark or not if the mark is their on that then the problem is in the drivers of your ROM if the their is no excalmation mark on that or the device is not displayed then the problem may in the ports.

Check that the Fn Key is enabled. Press Fn to release it and check now.

2. Hold (Rate) for about 2-3 second
3. Press (Set / TAX+)
4. Input the tax rate
5. Press (Set / TAX+)
6. Hold (Rate) for about 2-3 second again
7. Press (Set / TAX+) again
And Then you can test the rate .
