the noise is coming from the motor,if you can spin the drum by hand and it moves freely you have a bad motor and need to change it out,next time send model number and the brand name of dryer,if it doesn't spin,the belt could be jammed up or something stuck in the blower wheel,let me know how you make out

It sounds to me like the motor is not turning, but the heating element is coming on. with no air flowing over the element, it is getting too hot. Can you operate the start switch with the top tilted up so you can see if the motor is turning but the drum is not, and just where the buzzing is coming from. Also, I would try the dryer on manual setting and on air dry to see if any setting works. Good luck

I'VE HEARD THIS SONG BEFORE. WHEN PUSHING THE START BUTTON AND GETTING A AAARGH SOUND THIS INDICATES A BAD MOTOR. YOU NEED TO RULE OUT SOMETHING STUCK IN BLOWER. It sounds like the drum may be stuck. Turn the dryer on with the door open, just keep the button pushed. Then try to turn the drum by hand, and see if it will start to turn.

This is a A.C. hum that you are hearing. this is a warning sign. You are experiencing motor failure. the actual windings inside of the motor are losing their potential to hold an even current due to breakage. the shutdown is a safety feature built in the control panel to prevent electrical spark/fire.
