Hello, maybe you're missing a vital codec....so google "codec download" and find a site from which you can download a full suite of codecs (no charge) and it may fix your problem.Else, what media player are you using? try opening it with windows media player. (You'll prob. still need codec download)

if you wish to burn cd's which is your burner then you need a software called nero burning rom or any other burning software that lets you burn data or audio cd's or vcd's to burn with if you wish to burn dvd's then you need a dvd burner combo drive which lets you burn dvds

ya it ll work... first change the cd to write mode ..hence not able to burn files...

The LG software supplied with this item is rather suspect in my experience. To play dvd's, try downloading Videolan VLC free from the internet. It passes my system's security and plays dvd's really well.

i bought the following ''Internal / GH22 Super Multi DVD Rewriter 22x.....the 1st time i installed the software cd ''power dvd'' took over given a 2week trial period before purchacing the "product"...only half my speakers was working with 'power dvd' and afther the 2 week trial there was no sound..the picture will show but thats it...on inserting a audio music cd all is well,so with other software being downloaded via dvd-rom...it's just when it comes to play a dvd that i have no sound...all my settings are correct, soundcard all is 100%..is the product not suitable for my windows xp 80Gb hard drive and 3Gb ram?
i'm happy to say that my problem has being solved regarding the audio while trying to play a dvd on my pc....thankyou so much for all the help
