if this is a woireless controller, it means that the controller needs to be charged. If this occurs when you have the controller connected to the PS3, it means either the USB cable you are using is bad or the rechargable battery in the controller is dead.

Have you tried resetting it? If not, try to switch it of , unplug PSU cord for 30 seconds, then plug in cord and push and hold power on button for 5 seconds, you should heare some beeping sounds and the PS3 system should reset and restart.

You have the Yellow light of death. The YLOD is the Red Rings of Death, except for the PS3.

Oh, and if you send your system in to Sony, you will get a different copy of the game that is stuck in your system packaged separately and later than when you will get your system back from Sony.

This sounds like the known fault which all these units exhibit (apart from the very recent ones). Return the machine to your dealer with your proof of purchase. B & W will rectify the fault.

Hi, this is heat related and, this issue may have damaged your power supply board. if the red lights continue to flash after you have unplugged this unit for 5 minutes, this will confirm power board failure and, you will need to replace this circuit board.

i have exactly the same problem. have been in touch with playstation themselves they say it is either motherboard or one of the other major parts in the playstation. my ps3 is 2 years old now (out of waranty) playstastion said that if i can provide proof of purchase they will exchange it free of charge even though it is a year over its warranty date. if you cant find your proof they will replace it for £150.

Hello. You may want to double check your connections and cables. The only time I've ever heard a clicking before a system shut it's self down was when a kid had stuck the battery cover from a TV remote into the disc drive.
Also, if the PS3 keeps acting like that, Sony will repair/replace the unit for free including shipping since it's under a year old. Thanks and good luck!

my ps3 worked fine util i installed the 2.10 version update,and then it quit reading games [blu ray movies and regular dvd's would still play] i called sony and the guy told me to restore system setttings and install version 2.20. after i installed this version from their website my ps3 would not read anything. if you still have proof of purchase sony will send you a refurb. but my guess is after you install the same version again you will still be sol and after your 1 year warranty is up sony will not have any else to do with you[xbox offers a lifetime warranty] now i have an xbox360 and a $700 freaking paper weight. THANKS SONY!!!

to any future people with this problem disable 1080i from supported resolutions check 720 P and 1080P only, ps3 doesnt have good 1080i support
