Where did you get the bulb. I tried a cheap one and it did not work correctly. I found a bulb dealer that had I believe had a warrentee of a year and I have had no problem since. I have a WD73737. the cheap bulb carrage was not quite to specs and did not fit correctly from bulb surface and there was a gap and color kept changing on screen. I got the bulb cheaper than Mitsubishi, aprox 75 t0 80dollars.
SOURCE: My Mit WD-57731 will turn on, but then shuts down with yellow blinking light
check if there is a message before it turns off.
if there is call mitsubishi consumer relations for more info.

the status light blinking red means a fan (the unit hs 4 of them) has failed. you need to determine which one. use the self diagnostic function:
Error Code Operational Check
Note: The TV must be in “Shut Down” and not manually switched Off, to perform the Error Code Operational
Check. When the TV is switched Off, the code automatically resets to “12” No Error.
Press the front panel “DEVICE” and “MENU” buttons at the same time, and hold for 5 seconds to
activate the Error Code Operational Check. The LED will then flash denoting a two digit Code.
Note: The front panel buttons must be used, NOT those on the Remote Control.
• The number of flashes indicates the value of the MSD (tens digit) of the Error Code.
• The flashing then pauses for approximately 1/2 second.
• The LED then flashes indicating the value of the LSD (ones digit) of the Error Code.
Example: If the Error Code is “32”, the LED will flash three times, pause, and then flash two times.
• The Error Code is repeated a total of 5 times.
and read the code.

Hello:
Make sure u replace the lamp cover as the safety switch need to be closed to make the set work. If new lamp did not repair your problem , then it may well be the Ballast Board, Sometimes call the Lamp Driver.

Hello.. meseta809
first off all it's not necessary to have the TV on to reset it. the problem is the dmd need to send the info that you have a working lamp.
try this to see if it work's
Panasonic TY-LA1000 TV Lamp Reset Procedure/instructions:
Ok,
so apparently there are a couple of different ways forum members have
found out how to reset their Panasonic Lamp timer (this should apply to
all of them, not just the TY-LA1000 specific lamp)
“Hold the VOL down button on the TV and the SPLIT button on the REMOTE for five seconds”
Again,
you will need to press the Volume button on the TV while pressing hte
SPLIT button on the Remote Control for five seconds, it will NOT work
if you try to do it both from your remote!

OK. So after trying different things. I tried this.
I removed the lamp. Blew some air in there by the fans. Then put the lamp back in.
So far it's working great. Hopefully that was it.
Thanks.
