Your safety reversing sensor must be connected and aligned correctly before the garage door opener will close. An obstruction in the path of the sensor will also cause your door to not close.
This sensor is an electronic beam, which is sent between two sending and receiving “eyes”. These eyes face each other and are located just inside your garage door. They may need to be adjusted so the beam from the sending eye is properly detected by the receiving eye. Once the receiving eye “sees” the beam from the sending eye, a green indicator light will glow on the top of the eye.

There might be many other reasons like :-

        Check limit travel adjustment first.
Limit contacts not operating. Remove cover and manually observe the switch actuator. Check continuity of contacts. Possible bad assembly.
Check gear and sprocket assembly for wear. Check shaft for play or wobble. Worn assembly can cause unit to go out of sync.

However, More likely u wld be able to fix this issue if u follow my first adviz.........

It has the "Protector System" (safety sensors). chec the sensor indicator light on the receivinng eye the green light had a slight flicker.cleaned both the sending eye and receiving eye lens of dust and cob webs, then realigned the receiving sensor for a steady green indicator light. then check the door function it now works fine.over time, temperature, and viberation the sensors become dirty and get out of alignment, as no one had tampered with the sensor alignment prior to this. Hope this works for you.

.IF YOU HAVE A SIDE DOOR TO YOUR GARAGE, ENTER THAT WAY...
THEN TAKE THE LIGHT CAPS OFF YOUR GARAGE DOOR OPENER AND PRESS THE
RESET BUTTON...ONCE YOU PRESS IT, GO TO THE REMOTE THAT IS MOUNTED ON
THE SIDE OF THE GARAGE DOOR AND PUSH IN A CODE... FOR EXAMPLE 2345 THEN
PRESS ENTER.....MAKE SURE YOU PRESS ENTER AFTER YOU PRESS THE CODE
IN.... HINT, RELEASE THE GARAGE DOOR FROM THE OPENER SO IT WILL BE
EASIER FOR YOU TO RESET THE CODE....AND DON'T FORGET, DO SOMETHING
    ABOUT YOUR KIDS

The manual link has been posted for you but know that the DIP switches need only match your remote.

Can the travel limits on a Chamberlain security+ be reset?

If you are at the back of the operator looking toward the door the limit adjustment should be on the left hand side.
The adjustment closest to the door is the down limit turn that 3 turns clockwise. The adjustment screw furthest from the door is the up limit turn this screw 3 turns counterclockwise. That should get you close to factor settings. If this does not work; remove the cover on the operator sometimes the limit assy. come apart.

My liftmaster formula one has one sensor light green and the other yellow. no amount of realignment helps this. the garage door will bounce back up when it hits the bottom and won't stay shut. have tried...

One photo eye should be yellow and the other one green. The problem seems to be your down limit to be set too far. When you stand facing the door behind the operator the limit adjustments should be on the left hand side under the light cover. The down limit is the one closest to the door.

Craftsman chain drive opener won't stay down

Check the down limit:
If the light bulb(s) on your operator are on the front and/or back, the limit adjustment screw is on the left side of the operator (looking from the back of the operator and facing the garage door).. If the lights are on the sides of the operator then the limit adjustment screw is on the left side (looking from the back of the operator and facing the garage door).

Check the up and down force:
On your operator (the box that hangs from the ceiling). If the light bulb(s) on your operator are on the front and/or back, the force adjustment screw is on the back of the operator. If the lights are on the sides of the operator then the force adjustment screw is on the right side (looking from the back of the operator and facing the garage door). Turn the light blue adjustment screw with the up arrow to a higher number.

Garage door pad

You need to press and release the learn botton (don't hold it or you will clear all the codes)
If the light bulb(s) on your operator are on the front and/or back, the learn botton is on the back of the operator. If the lights are on the sides of the operator then the learn botton is on the right side (looking from the back of the operator and facing the garage door).
After you press the learn button you have about 30 seconds to press in the new 4 digit code in your key pad then hold the enter button until the light on the operator blinks (about 2 seconds). If this does not work check the battery and try it again.
