Some MB's have a second jumper setting on the board to allow a technician to jump to a faster "trouble shooter" configuration. After any or no changes are made to the BIOS's configuration the BIOS wants the The tech to reset the jumper back to "Normal Mode" so the customer doesn't have an overclocked or "hyper"machine voiding it's warrantee. I have seen this on some mostly older boards including Intel's who are known for down speeding their MB's. Check the websit for the MB's manual and see if it tells you where the jumper is located. If not, Also try to update the BIOS to the latest version and this may resolve your problem. Hope so.

Shut off your computer, open the side case and touch the metal to ground yourself before taking out the power cord.

I guess your motherboard is this? Find the "N" on the picture on your motherboard, should be a 3 pin jumper (closer look if your click "BIOS configuration jumper"). Now, move the jumper (blue block thing in the picture) and place it on pin 2&3 and wait a minute. Then place it back onto its normal position, pin 1&2.

Please turn off the system and reinstall the jumper to normal,

INTEL BOARDS ARE VERY SENSITIVE TO THE VOLTAGE OF THE CMOS BATTERY!!!
    ------------
let me guess: 3-5 years your computer works fine, and then... BOOM: "turn off power and reinstall the jumper in normal mode position" ?

CHANGE THE BATTERY and this will solve the problem.
after switching on it will go to the BIOS once more - you should set up date/time etc; after selecting "save settings and exit" it will write that phrase "turn off power..." again - please don't be afraid!!! and after switching it off and then on - it will work fine.

    Good luck! =)

If this is correct, it is telling you that there is a jumper on the motherboard (probably labeled "clear CMOS) and it's set in the incorrect position. There will be three pins. The jumper is installed across two of them. Move the jumper (the little plastic thing) to the other setting: for example, if it's installed on pins 1 and 2, move it to 2 and 3. Give that a try. Will probably work for you.

Though i hve put jumper to normal posirion it shows Trun off & reinstall the jumper to normal position

I can't read those words that you flash around or see what you are trying to show me. Put it on the wrong side nothing will happen but it will clear your BIOS SETTINGS TO DEFAULT. PUT THE JUMPER BACK ON , START UP AND THEN GO INTO THE BIOS IMMEDIATLYAND CHECK YOUR SETTINGS ARE CORRECT.
Now reboot and you should go straight intto your OS if not corrupt.
Good luck and if it don't work be a little more clear on your fault.

When i start PC; BIOS seting opens and says clear

  1. pls read the user manual first to identify which pinds of password jumper to normal position
  2. Reinstall the jumper in a different position. For example, if you removed the jumper from pins 2 and 3, reinstall the jumper over pins 1 and 2.
  3. Replace the computer cover and reconnect the power cable and monitor.

You can now assign a new system and/or setup password. For more password information, refer to the Passwords section of your computer'sservice manual.
