Downloading pics from camera to mac

I have a panasonic lumix  DMC-TZ1 and have downloaded pics from it to my mac for over a year. Suddenly it isn't downloading.  It is as if it doesn't recognize that it has been hooked up to the computer. It used to change modes automatically and allow me to begin download.  Now it stays in photo shoot mode.  Could the cable have gone bad? Nothing else is changed on the camera.
Thanks,Melanie McGuire

We had trouble uploading to our mac, especially with videos.  A camera store guy suggested using a card reader instead of uploading through the camera -- it's much faster.  Hope this helps.

Lumix won't download pic to pc

Please ensure you are using the included USB cable to connect the camera to the PC. Then turn the camera on. You will then be prompted to select a USB mode. Choose "PC".

I have a dmc-tz1 camera and need to know how to upload pictures to my mac. I have i-photo. I do not have a manual. What icon do i need to turn my camera to to upload to mini mac?

When you plug the camera in and turn it on, (you may or may not have to go into review picture mode) it should appear on your desktop as a drive, usually called "no name". Just double-click on it and you can view the pics or drag and drop them to iPhoto. You could also buy a card reader and use it to download....it's faster and trouble-free.

Lumix DMC-TZ1 Memory Card Error

Try formatting the new card in the camera. Also, download any pics from the old card using a card reader and then, format it in the camera.

Built -in memory full

First, determine if any of the pics on the internal memory are important...if so, download them first. Then, with no card in the camera, go into the menu and find "format" and follow the on-screen instructions to erase the internal memory. Then, if the memory card contains any important pics, download them using a card reader if necessary. Then, insert the card into the camera and do the "format" thing again. Now, you should be ok.

Need replacement installation CD (Mac version) for Lumix DMC-TZ1

The easiest way to download your pics to a Mac is to use a card reader. You can transfer the pics to a folder you create on your desktop and view them from there or import them to iphoto.

Downloading pictures to my pc

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive.

You can download the manual from the manufacturer's web site at
