Can not get 3 speakers on my samsung home theater to work!

All is hooked up and the right and left front speakers are working, but there is no sound coming from the center, and R and L back speakers.

All the cables are hooked up between the home theatre system and the digital cable box. The right and left front speakers are working, but there is no sound coming from the center. If I plyg the centre plug into either the right or left plugs it works.

There are a few settings that will just give you a stereo output. The first one is with the Pro Logic II. If you press the PLII Mode button on the remote it will go through a series of settings from MUSIC ➞ CINEMA ➞ PRO LOGIC ➞ MATRIX ➞STEREO ➞ MUSIC. Pro Logic setting will only produce sound from the front speakers and Stereo from the front speakers and the sub. Put it on Matrix for 5.1 surround sound.
Also for speaker settings follow the instructions below.
Signal outputs and frequency responses from the speakers will automatically be adjusted according to your speaker configuration and whether certain speakers are used or not.
In Stop mode, press the MENU button.
Press the Cursor down button to move to Audio and then press the ENTER button.
In the SPEAKER SETUP, press the ENTER button again.
Press the Cursor button to move to the desired speaker and then press the ENTER button.
For C, SL, and SR, each time the button is pressed, the mode switches alternately as follows : SMALL ➞ NONE.
For L and R, the mode is set to SMALL.
SMALL : Select this when using the speakers.
NONE : Select this when no speaker is connected.
Press the RETURN button to return to the previous level.
Press the EXIT button to exit the setup screen.
It also seems that with this system, if you are on 5.1 surround but your music source is only in stereo, you will only hear stereo.

Awia speaker ok for home thaeter

Just about any speaker will work for home theater. As long as it makes sound.

Of course, you will need some type of surround sound processor (like a surround receiver) and other speakers to connect to the front left, center, front right and surround connections.

Some speakers will work better than others.

I will not get into any specifics because there is WAAAAY to much information to get into. Do a little research on home theater systems and how to design, hook up etc.

HDMI should transmit both Video and Audio. It's the best quality of all of the methods. Just make sure that you have your sound set to HD sound. You can do that by right-clicking your speaker icon at the bottom (by the time), and choosing Volume Control Options and make sure that Digital Audio (HDMI) is selected.

This would work for Windows 7 or Vista Operating Systems. XP is similar, but you will have to play around with.

Gurus, I just bought Samsung Home Theater System which i connected to my Hitachi TV with HDMI cable. I have a Optical Cable going from HT to my TV Optical port. I have another connection from my cable

On the remote control for the Samsung Home Theater System look at the bottom left to a button that says "MODE", those moods change the sound each speaker gives off. if that doesn't work, you might need new wiring because there are other wires that are more durable than the ones that come with it, much better too.

Rear spekers no sound

Is the source signal of a surround sound type? Also, be sure that the rear speakers are on, (if your receiver has a speaker switch on it), and they are hooked up properly.
