Hello
i'm having HP PAVILLION DV6000 and OS is VISTA HOME PREMIUM .My problem is that my system does'nt show any dvd drive in MY COMPUTER. I am having PIONEER DVDRW DVR-K17B ATA Device .device manager show a yellow icon and tells that it needs driver. It was working properly before.
Follow the below very carefully....it usually fixes these problems. If there are no upper filters, don't worry....just delete the lower filters or vice/versa...get rid of the filters....just follw the guide below. When you get to the registry entries below, the first one maybe the one you need to edit...just read the numbers carefully to make sure you get the right one....it is easier than you think...you can do it!!!
Windows Vista
and then click All Programs.
If you are prompted for an administrator password or for a confirmation, type the password, or click Allow.
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\{4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}
Note You may also see an UpperFilters.bak registry entry. You do not have to remove that entry. Click UpperFilters only. If you do not see the UpperFilters registry entry, you still might have to remove the LowerFilters registry entry. To do this, go to step 8.

I have the same problem. The drive worked fine for a year. Now I have the yellow alert and tried to reinstall the driver. No luck any suggestions?????
No i haven't been able to resolve the problem?
You cannot just remove a driver, it has to be taken out of the registry as some files may still remain. then restart and reinstall
