well for this purpose you will need a manual to the board. search the manual and you will be guided with picture where to plug what.

According to the specs of this motherboard, it only supports a maximum of 256 MB of SDRAM. So, it definitely does not support 1 GB DDR2 memory modules.

FOR IBM MOTHERBOARD REV 1.6

I believe the fastest CPU you can install in that motherboard is a Athlon XP 3200+ (2.2GHZ) socket 7 CPU.

That board uses eaither DDR 1 or SD-RAM and is definatly not compatible with DDR2 which uses a different connector on the motherboard (more pins)
