SOURCE: No sound when using Panny plasma with RX-V3800

Let me see if I understand. You have one HDMI cable linking your TV and AVR? This is only to send video and sound out to your TV from the AVR you will not be able to send sound back over this same cable. You'll have to use the TVs audio out and connect it to an input of the AVR. The "HDMI out" on the AVR is just that Out and not In. Not sure what for but through the tape monitor jacks I think unless you have pre/main jacks. Why another preamp when the receiver already has one?

SOURCE: Yamaha Receiver RX-V3800 Rear Left surround click sound

It's possible it is some sort of interference pickup, but another possible I've come across a number of times on Yamahas is poor earth connections via the back panel.

All the circuit boards have earth connections on them and the screws holding them to the back panel form an earth bonding connection. Tighten all the screws on the back to eliminate this possibility. Costs nothing to try and may just solve it.

I got Yamaha RX-V3800 with intermittent power.
Cause by capacitor C4 22nF 630V on the control power board.
After replacing the capacitor, receiver again working OK!
