SOURCE: Onkyo TX-DS474 Receiver shuts down after Standby mode.

It's going into a protect mode. The amp is probably shorted out. Disconnect the spkrs and turn it on. If it still shuts off, it's the amp, if not, it's the spkrs.

SOURCE: Onkyo TX-NR905 Protection Circuit Activated

The problem is not with the inputs. This unit is in protect because a problem has been detected in the output section. Try disconnecting the speaker wires and turning it on. If the unit remains on, there is a short in one of the speaker wires. If the unit still shuts down, there is an internal problem that will require repair. It sounds like this is a new piece. If so, it should be covered under warranty.

Please provide instructions for how to play music from I phone/IPOD using analog. I plugged in the devise into the Video 4 area in lower right hand corner.

Hi Kathy, the easiest way to do this on your txsr700 would be for you to purchase Y connector which will have RCA connections on one end and a headphone jack on the other end. Connect the RCA cables to any open RCA connection other than the Phono input and then connect the headphone jack to the iPod. Please be sure that the volume is turned up a bit on the iPod. If you should require further assistance please feel free to contact our Product Support Team at 800-229-1687, Thanks, JT

How do I hook up my blue tooth headphones to my onkyo SR 605

You cannot rig up a blue tooth headphones to this receiver with out a blue tooth transmitter ( the Onkyo does not have one built in ). If you have a transmitter it can be plugged into the headphone out socket of the Onkyo ( in front ), just remember that it will cut out the sound from all your speakers when you insert the headphone jack . The advantage though with this connection is you can control the headphone volume using the Onkyo remote.

use your headphone jack, you will need an adapter cable that converts the signal to left / right male RCA jacks. (available at radio shack or on ebay)

these can plug into any red / white inputs EXCEPT phono I use the input labeled CD for my blackberry to listen to MP3's and stream music from Pandora.com

Audio output from my TV

take a red and white audio rca cable and cut off one end of the jacks. on the end you cut, solder a headphone output plug on. can also solder on the lines of a pair of headphones (where you've cut off the 1/8 in jack) directly to the rcv jacks.
