Check those 3 micro switches in the door latch assembly. The unit will not start until all interlock conditions are met. Could it be the keypad membrane, yes. Is that likely, no.

The keypad very well could be worn from use and be working intermittently. Replacing the keypad (and the keypad face if it is a separate piece) is the most logical solution.
Yes you can use a hair dryer but the power should be off so that you don't short it out any more than it already is. Most likely the keypad has been ruined and will need replaced., Once these go bad there is no fix except to replace the keypad.

You need to replace the touch pad assy. Moisture gets up around the contacts and, it doesn't take much to short them out. Some will work, others will not. Eventually, others will fail, leaving it inoperable. Recommend fixing ASAP
