The camera doesn't download pics to the computer. It reads

I usually download pics from my camera to computer. Today I can't. When I turn the camera on (connected to computer) it read "Comunication error" and no pics are transferred to the computer.

TRANSFERRING PHOTOS TO COMPUTER
If your photos are stored on the memory card, then removethe memory card from the camera and insert it into an USB memory card reader.Connect this USB memory card reader and memory card into the USB port of yourworking computer. Your computer will see this as an USB Mass Storage Device oran external storage device; you can then open the folder on the memory card andcopy the photos to your computer.Memory card reader is a handy device and isinexpensive. You can copy photos from other cameras and you can also downloadphotos off your memory card to someone else's computer without the need ofinstalling any programs.

SOURCE: lcd reads system error

Apparently often related to a lens motor malfunction. My old 4300 just gave this error for the first time today. The lens extended but made a whirring noise before the message popped up. Nothing I tried would fix it - but after I drove home it worked fine again.

I had a similar problem over a year ago after the camera fell out of my backpack (it was in its own bag but not well padded). When I used it the lens stuck and refused to retract, but I don't recall a "System Error" message. After a few tries, the lens went in and it's been fine since, until today.

Make sure there's nothing (dust, dirt) stuck in the lens barrels. Otherwise, just keep turning it on and off and hope it works.

SOURCE: camera will not connect with computer to download

If you got the Cable and Software CD, you can try to Uninstall the Software and then Install it again, as it may be some software/Dirver fault.

You can blame Windows updates. Time to start using a card reader.

SOURCE: I have a FinePix A345 camera and have had it for

First take the memory card out of the camera. Pictures that have been deleted are probably still there, but will be overwritten if you take any more pictures on top of them.

Your camera is not able to undelete pictures, but there are programs for doing this on a computer. You can put the memory card into a card reader attached to a computer, and use an undelete program to recover the deleted files. Undelete programs are available for free download from the internet, try the one at THIS LINK

If the pictures are very important to you, you might want to seek help from an experienced person.

Consider NOT connecting your camera to your computer.

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program.

When I try to turn on my FinePix A600 is beeps, the lens comes out, the light on the back flashes yellow, then it flashes red, the lens goes back in and the camera turns off. I bought a second FinePix...

I'm curious....the camera came out in 2006....how did you buy a second one?...and more importantly, why? If something doesn't work, the first thing people do isn't to go out and buy another one. Anyway, from your description, the problem seems to lie with the cards, not the camera. All memory cards must be formatted (sometimes called "initialized") in the camera before use and regularly after downloading the pics to the computer. This erases the card and brings it back to original condition so download any pics you want to save using a separate cardreader if necessary and then, format/initialize them in the camera. Also, how old are these cards?....they don't last forever.

I have my usb inserted in my computer and I need help downloading my pictures. How do I do download pics to my computer?

If you have Windows all you should need to do is plug in your camera via usb, turn it on and put it in review mode and the computer should detect the camera and ask if you want to download your photos. If this doesn't happen automatically you can open my computer and look for the camera which should be listed, open the camera folder find the pictures you want (press control and a to select all) press control and c to copy, open my pictures, press control and v to paste.

I've downloaded my pics but the file became corrupt so I deleted it however my computer still thinks the pics are on the computer. I need to download the pics again but can't....help!!

The card needs to be formatted using the camera. But before doing so, read this article about recovering your photos. Pay particular attention to the corrupted card procedures. Good luck.

Use a card reader. Since your computer has a USB port, you can get a card reader that reads SDHC cards. This is exactly how I do it on my computer.

I can't download pics to computer. I connect the camera, turn it on, pics come up, select pics, click download and nothing happens. Zoombrowser used to come up and with new computer, it doesn't...

Two possible solutions: 1. After the pictures come up, right-click on one of them and select "open with" and choose Zoombrowser from the list. 2. Use a card reader. Create a folder on your desktop and when the pictures show up after connecting the card reader, simply select all (highlight them) and drag and drop to the folder. From there, you can import them to Zoombrowser. typrice_188.jpg
