Did you install the drivers to the computer? And install the nikon software to your computer? If you didn't that is probably your problem. Otherwise you can get a cardreader and use it to get your photos on you computer.

Use a cardreader to download your pictures. Download them to a folder you create on your desktop. From there, you can do anything you want with them.

SOURCE: New Coolpix L20. Driver does not install with

Greetings,

I would take out the SD memory card and use it with a card reader like this one: http://bit.ly/5fruhB . You simply take out the SD memory card and put it in the card reader. Then put the usb end of the card reader into your computer and download the pictures that way.I also recommend that you download Picasa, a free photo organizer/editor for your pictures: http://bit.ly/5f6HEt This way you bypass the lousy nikon software altogether. Hope that was helpful,
Take Care,
-WN

THE RECHARGEABLE BATTERY WILL NOT WORK

There are two possibilities. First, the camera's internal charger may be defective or second; there may be a defective circuit in the camera that is draining the battery. I would buy an external battery charger and try recharging the batteries outside of the camera. The chargers are not too expensive. If that does not solve the problem, you need to contact Nikon for repair information at 1-800-Nikon-US (1-800-645-6687) 9AM-8PM EST, Monday to Friday.

Spot inside lens

NO!!! Don't even try because you can damage the mechanism. I would go to the Nikon USA website and go to the Service and Support tab. Nikon can give you a repair estimate.

Why does it say write protected when inserted

There is a Lock switch on the left side of the SD card. Make sure the Lock switch is slid up (unlock position). You will not be able to modify or delete the contents on the memory card if it is locked.

Why my coolpix s4300 will not charge

How old is the battery in the camera? Most rechargeable batteries will eventually lose their ability to charge. Usually one cell of the battery fails and the battery never reaches full charge. If the battery is more than a year old, replace it. The Coolpix S4300 uses the EN-EL19 and suggested retail price of $41.

If you have tried a new battery, I would suspect a problem with the charging port. That isn't something I recommend fixing yourself.

I hope this helps.

Camera constantly takes blurred pictures

Appears that the auto focus mechanism is not working, This anomaly is most obvious in lower light situations when focusing is much more critical.

If the camera was new and two months old I would either return it for another one or have Nikon repair the lens assembly under the terms of its warranty.
