RBS305PDS single oven whirlpool

I have a rbs305pd oven, after just completing a cleaning cycle, when I select bake it only goes into broil mode. I cycled off the power and same issue. Is there a sensor it is looking at before allowing bake mode?

    Same problem, Whirlpool is JUNK!

  • Lhensley Feb 02, 2008

Yes I have the same problem. After using the auto clean the oven would not heat up. The display works but not the elements. I called Whirlpool and they basically told me I'm on my own because the oven is a little over a year old. Guess Whirlpool and Kitchenaid won't be getting my business anymore!

RBS305 replaced thermal cutoff twice and again it won't come on bake or broil

Good Evening!
The self clean feature is causing your thermal fuses to fail or open. This is a safety mechanism that when open (bad) won't allow electricity to pass through any longer. The temperature in your oven exceeds what the components in your appliance can handle. If you want your oven to last it's longest, I would discontinue using that feature. If ever the control board or keypad on your oven by way of the self clean feature, we can help you with that. Fixyourboard.com can help. Send all inquiries to [email protected] . Thank you!

Will only broil, then gives an F2 error

F2 Oven temperature is too high 1. Look for welded relay contacts on bake or broil relays. If this happens, replace oven control (also called clock or ERC).
2. For SELF CLEAN models: check door lock operation.
3. Look for a high resistance connection or any other cause of high resistance in the oven temperature sensor circuit. Check sensor, sensor harness and sensor harness connection at sensor and oven control. Replace sensor if found defective.

Remember: Oven control (ERC) measures resistance of sensor circuit, not actual oven temperature.

I ran the self-clean mode this morning. After it finished this process, I preheated the oven to do some baking, and now the oven won't heat at all.

I am going to assume that you selected bake as you normally would and there are no faults (error code) reported. - this would mean there would not be a problem with the controller or the temperature sensor. The problem may be with only the bake circuit - so try the broil function - If the broil works then you may have a problem with the bake element or the connections to it or the relay on the controller - check the connections first then the element - If the broil does not work also then you may have a problem with the relay on the controller or the connection of the other leg of the 220v supply.

Make a check or have someone check it and wrte me back a post here

    Whirlpool oven issue

Usually, when an oven won't bake, it's because the bake element is burned out. The bake element is the black, pencil- thick tube at the bottom of the oven. When the oven heats, the element glows red. This element has an expected life-span of several years. It may last for only one; it may last for many more. When the element burns out, you need to replace it.

    SINGLE OVEN MODEL # RBS305PDQ16

Probably refering to a thermal fuse. This fuse opens when heat is too high. Some of these ovens had a kit where you replaced the cooling fan, fuse and shimmed hinges to correct problem. You can access fuse by removing oven from wall. It will be located on back of unit. You can try replacing just fuse. It will probably be ok for bake and broil. It may happen again during clean.

    No heat after self-cleaning

gain access to top of oven...pull it out if necessary. remove all panels possible and look for a wire connection that has deteriorated with high temperature. this may not be easy to see, so use a continuity meter and check across each wire-to-terminal connection. it also is possible that the over temperature fuse (or breaker) has opened. check for this also. for further help, ask me.
