I have a similar problem. I have an E50 Thinkcentre which recently stopped going past the IBM splash screen. The screen reads "checking DMI pool......................." then the screen blanks and nothing appears, despite the fans running.
    Can anyone help?

Simple dear, I think that you can see the power led and hdd led but it wont boot. Right. So switch the system and than open the cabinet and than remove the RAM , CLEAR THE DUST ON THE SLOT AND RAM. THAN REPLUG IT IN THE SAME WAY. PLEASE DO NOT INSERT IT FORCEFULLY BECAUSE IT WILL GO EASILY IF YOU ARE INSERTING IT IN RIGHT WAY. SO CHECK THE POSITON OF THE NOTCH ON BOTH THE RAM AND SLOT OK

AND THAN START THE SYSTEM. THIS MIGHT DEFINATELY SOLVE YOUR PROBLEM.

Check to make sure the Heatsync is fast to the motherboard.
I found one of the 2 sides was grossley loose. No problems after that was done ... also put new heat sync compound on . ( you can find that at your local Radio Shack )

DELL 8400 MAKES A LOUD FAN NOISE AND WONT BOOT

There are 2 basic fans in Dell tower one for the power supply and the other for the Processor. If your computer is not booting then the Processor fan is most likely to be the culprit. What could be happening is that the Processor fan is no longer turning fast enough to cool the processor, so normal the processor when it over heats there is either protection to switch off the computer automatically or the computer won't boot. The best thing is to change the fan and make sure it is working properly but checking on the cables that they won't entangle on top of the fan to impede it's movement. You can easily damage your processor if the fan is not working properly.

IBM 8123 not powering on the problem is the start up fan is running continuously.

Hello Dear,

If the Startup FAN is running, means the Power is going to your motherboard and other components. SMPS seems OK. You should check the display cable and CMOS Battery.
Just try to pull out the battery and Make the machien switch ON. (Don't forget to Check the display cable is connected or not).
If it is then means your CMOS battaery is faulty one.

When i start the system the fan runs in high speed and the system not booting, i have tried with replacing RAM, SMPS still then the problem persist

The fan you hear when the the computer start, is the power supply fan, the system not booting up mean you should check the cable which connect the monitor to the computer If the connection it proper then you should check the video card you can do this by try using another monitor or replace the video card because if its faulty the computer will never boot.

IBM ThinkCentre S51 Intel Pentium 4 PC Desktop won't boot up. The power light comes on for about a second and then goes off, over and over again. It does not stop unless I unplug it. The mouse's infrared...

Sounds like it's probably the power supply. The computer takes more power to boot up than to run, so if it can't get enough wattage it can't boot all the way up, and it will shut down and try again.

If you're comfortable opening your computer up, you can test the power supply connectors with a voltmeter or multimeter to verify. A new power supply is typically only $30 or $40.

My ibm think centre wont boot i hear the fans come on but no boot

Hello

Without a laptop model number, we can only give you general advice.

Does the laptop beep when you turn it on? If it does, the number of beeps will indicate what is wrong.

If it does not beep, there may be a power issue - try removing the battery and use the AC Adapter only. Also, try swapping out the power adapter if you can.

Lenovo thinkcentre a51 reboots with several beeps

There is a system error in the system. Would be hard to determine cause of the error without viewing an error log. I recommend, using system restore and setting the pc back to a time it worked good. Otherwise, download a free registry error cleaner and registry optimizer called "glary utilities" from glaryutilities.org
Run the program to get all the bugs out of your pc
