When i switch on my Panasonic TX-P42X10B plasma tv, a green light flashes multitude of times, then after about 3 seconds it goes into standby and the red light bleeps at a much slower rate. Anyone know why this is happening? Thanks.
Hard to troubleshoot with just this info, the red light can be helpful if its 10 blinks repeating over and over replace the power supply first then the A board. Voltages check on the power supply would narrow down the culprit.
Post again if you measure the power supply voltages

The red light (after the green light flashes) constantly blinks, never ending, untill you switch the set off yourself.
As for the power supply readings, i couldn't measure much, as i am missing the circuit diagram. I did however measure:
Q 104 Transistor: 170V
Bridge Rectifier D100: 130V
Not sure if this is of any importance but the D207 diode is open circuit.
Thanks for your help so far.

SOURCE: Problem starting a plasma
I have the same plasma TV and had the same problem. The problem is three caps. Change the cap 2663, 2664 both 100µ/25V and 2662,1000µ/25V. After you have changed them your TV will work again.

I have had this problem in some models of plasma sets before. In most cases the power supply and main drive boards had to be replaced. In a small number of cases the failure was the screen itself.
In all cases, the cost of the repair was expensive. For the screen failure, the set was scrapped.

SOURCE: standby light flashes 3 times
A 3 flash pattern indicates that either the lamp is not seated correctly or that the lamp door is not latched properly. It can also be a fault with the switches that sense whether the lamp is seated or the door is latched. Try reseating the lamp and relatching the lamp door
SOURCE: WONT TURN ON
Most likely, the problem is a defective Main Processor Board. This is the board with the antenna, RCA and HDMI plugs. You cant repair or replace component parts on this board, so dont even try. You must replace the complete board. The TV says Sylvania, but it is a bloody Funia TV. Several years ago this foreign company bought out broke-azzz Sylvania . They are still carrying the Sylvania name since Sylvania was a popular TV name in the 70s. Every electronic company in the USA is now owned by the Chinese, so call Funai and order the part from them. Dont be surprise if they dont have a clue what the heck you asking for. America and all electronics have gone to the puddles. Do you know why? GREED.

Sorry, meant to say the red light blinks, not bleeps.
