I cant find the 1100 make so went for one as close as possible, my problem is that the drum isnt turning, ive checked the belt and its ok, I think the motor is faulty and have been told it might be thr brushes, are they easy to change and how do u do it?

My drum on washer (Hotpoint 530 1300 spin Aquarius 6kg) will turn but keeps jamming if you rotate it by hand.

Initial problem was it got noisey and threw the belt, the motor is fine

I am convinced there is something inbetween the drum and the plastic housing but I dont know hoe to get it out.

    Please help

Yes easy to change there are 2 of them look for a single wire going to each side of your motor when u find each wire u have found were your carbon brushes are right you will need a pair of bent nose pliers place the ends either side of the plastic casing if the carbon brushes squeeze and pull the first brush should pull out take wire of now the 2 brush you wont be able to see but its directly across from the first 1 do exact same to take that 1 out now before replacing the new brushes there a small slot running down 1 side of the plastic at the end you will see a small metal bar push this up which will release the carbon now you can fit them

REF: HOTPOINT AQUARIUS WASHER/DRYER 1100 WD61 (and similar)
HAVE SAME PROBLEM DRUM NOT TURNING AT ALL. WAS JUST A BIT THEN STOPPED. BEFORE THAT DID NOT SPIN ..so GRADUAL SLOWDOWN TO STOP
SUSPECT MOTOR BRUSHES ...BUT BEFORE DOING THAT CHECK LOADING AS SOME MACHINES HAVE UNEQUAL LOAD CUT OUT.

TURN OFF AT MAINS !!!!!
IN THIS MODEL. YOU GET TO THE MOTOR FROM THE TOP. TOP SLIDES OUT AFTER TAKING 3 SCREWS FROM BACK TOP.
THE BRUSHES ARE HOUSED IN A CERAMIC WHITE PLASTIC LOOKING BLOCK THAT CLIPS IN TO THE SIDE OF THE MOTOR ONE EACH SIDE. A SINGLE WIRE GOES TO FRONT PART.
YOU NEED TO PUSH SOMETHING INTO REAR SLOT ALONGSIDE THE BLOCK TO RELEASE THE BLOCK CLIP-- I USED A GOLF TEE!!! (SHORT AND TAPERED, YOU CAN GET IT IN AND WHEN YOU PUSH IT, THE TAPER SQUEEZES THE CLIP. YOU NEED TO RELEASE CLIP AND PULL OUT AT SAME TIME. THE SINGLE WIRE ATTACHED TO FRONT ON EACH PULLS OFF.
GET TWO NEW BLOCKS COMPLETE WITH CARBON BRUSHES.. ATTACH WIRES AND PUSH HOME. THAT PART DONE!!
GOOD IDEA TO CLEAN HOSES AND PUMP AT BOTTOM REAR OF MACHINE WHILST AT IT.
ALSO CHECK BELT.
IF CHANGE OF BRUSHES DOES NOT FIX IT LIKELY TO BE CONTROL (NEXT CHAPTER)

Thanks for your solution. I had the same problem (drum not turning), saw this post, ordered my brushes and just fitted them. Drum turning nicely now!! I did have to fit them twice though as I didn't release the carbon the first time! Wife thinks I'm a star now!! ;-)

My Hotpoint Aquarius TVM570 started making a funny noise then cut out... I changed the fuse to see if it was that but no luck. You can turn the timer but as soon as you press 'start' it just trips...

if you check this link it shows the basics for getting in the dryer ,, after that , you may have to remove the vent tube inside ,, you will see a fan attached to the back of the motor, your missing Rib could be rubbing against that or possibly even the drum as it turns,, be sure and unplug the machine anytime you remove the back

Hotpoint drive belt

un plug appliance, remove lid and back plate, place belt on motor and carefully on drum pully, turn pully to pull belt onto its, its quite tight to do but is possible, watch out for trapping your fingers.

Hotpoint Aquarius 1100 WM63 Not Spinning Clicking Programmer

I would suggest you check the brushes in the motor, as it sounds like they are worn out.
Replace them if they are less than 3 or 4 mm long
This would give you the symptoms you are describing.
Please rate my solution.
Thankyou.

Aquarius 1100 wm63 very noisy spinning

Remove rear cover of washer.
Remove drive belt.
From inside the drum, spin the drum by hand, if it is noisy or feels rough, then main drum bearings have failed.
If no noise, then possibly motor bearings noisy.
Hope this helps Thankyou.

Drum will not move

Try to remove drum belt, and then turn drum by hand, if it does not turn , then you have either siezed drum bearigs, or some thing jammed between the inner and outer drum
If drum turns freely, then check motor to see if it is free to turn.
Please rate my solution.
Thanks.

Hotpoint aquarius 1100 bangs while spinning

Several possible reasons for this. M/C not level, causing it to move about.
Overloading of m/c.
Loose concrete balance weight, there is one at top and one at bottom.
Suspension spring broken or unhooked.
Suspension leg loose or broken.
Main drum bearings worn, to check this, turn drum by hand and if it feels noisy or rough , then bearings have gone (expensive repair).
There are other possible causes, but these are the main reasons.
Plz rate my solution.
Thanks.

Hotpoint Aquarius 1100 spin WMA31

I have just had the same problem too, i fixed it by reattaching the belt and making sure that the belt at the motor was flush with the edge of the motor spindle, right at the end, it looks dodgy, but it works

Hotpoint Aquarius 1100 - Grinding Noise From Drum

This sounds like the min bearings have gone, open the door and see if there is any play up and down on the drum. if so its the bearing if not it could be something that has fallen from a pocket and got stuck between the metal clothes drum and the oute drum casing. a take apart job i am afraid for both issues.
