  • Checked the power cable make sure it is properly connected at the back of your CPU and to the power supply.
  • And also check the power supply from the CPU if its need to be replace.
  • And if the power cable is wore out replace with a new one.

SOURCE: will all wireless adapter brands and models work

If your talking about a wireless adapter that plugs in via a USB port then yes. If you are talking about a wireless network card that is installed into a PCI slot inside the computer, you can check with the network card manufacture for the specs but it should work as long as it is Windows compatible.

SOURCE: On my Dell Inspiron 580

If it burns other discs just fine and not CD-R discs, I would suggest you try a few diferent brands of discs. That should alleviate your issue. If it doesn't, its probably a good idea if you just replace the drive completely. You have purchase one from a local electronics retailed for around $30.

What would cause a Dell Inspiron 580 that powers on but display nothing on the screen?

Some types of memory will only work as matched pairs, try only using two sticks of the same type, Otherwise check your memory and graphics card are seated properly, remove the power cable to the monitor for a few minutes then plug in, check you haven't loosened the monitor cable. Do you get anything onscreen? if you get start up then check BIOS see what memory it reports & the graphics settings. Its most likely something loose or the memory.

What does a dell message mean, "a previous instance is already running mean"?

It's a generic Windows message, and is exactly what is says. For instance if you execute a game twice, you would get that error for the second instance.

If you don't see a second. Check Task Manager and kill (stop) there.

Inspiron 1520 error code 0f00:137B or dvdrw_4

Hi,

this is either a faulty dvd drive error message, or you have missing system files on the hard-drive.
The computer is asking you for the ( Media-Software Disk ) that is missing, and is required to start the computer.
Try putting your restore cd, or operating system in the dvd drive when booting the computer.
