I'm trying to hook up a dvd player to this tv and i'm not sure how to do it. I got the player connected to the tv, but what channel do I put it on, because I did not see any video key. I don't have the remote.
I am not sure about Direct TV but dish network does not allow the hookup to go through their box...it must go through the TV only. Speaking with Duraband at 1-800-256-2487 confirms you have to have a Duraband remote and universals won't program to it. Ask for parts dept. and order a new remote. Sorry - not good news for me either!!!
The Phillip Universal Remote works with the Durabrand BH2004D television, though it does not list it. Code 0317 I know works with this Durabrand TV.
Smash the **** out of it n go buy a new 1 of a diffrent brand then throw a brick the the durabrand company with a note that says EAT ****!!!!
The solution for the durabrand TV's is a GE or other type 3 digit universal remote programmed to code 189 Then you can change to the external video ports by pressing the Video/Source button.
This works for all durabrand TV's small to big and Combo's also.
I seem to be the only person with this information lol.

A Philips Universal remote model CL032 will work every function on the Durabrand BH2004D tv. The codes the instructions give you for the remote won't work, you must go through the search proceedure which is real simple.
Simply follow the instructions for searching the remote code library.
You will have to push the channel + button 40 times. This will make since once you read the directions.

Just bought a Panasonic Universal Remote that has codes for Durabrand. Stuck in either 0323 or 0317 and walla the TV turned on and the buttons seem to work.

You have to hook it up through Dishnetwork or directtv box. If you don't have the remote you can't put the tv in video mode. There are no codes to make universal remotes work these POS tvs. Sorry.
