Is it melting through heat or spilling water onto the ice already made? I suspect the latter, in which case suspect a blocked overflow drain

SOURCE: Kitchenaid ice maker

Is it sticking all the way up in off position? If so there is a redesigned arm to stop this problem. Instead of just a wire arm, it has a plastic flap on the bottom that hinges. This keeps the arm from jumping into the off position when it cycles. Any whirlpool/kitchenaid servicer should have one and show you how to replace it. Takes just a few seconds. If it is sticking half way down or lower, then it is binding up somewhere. You should be able to raise it about 2" and it fall freely back into place. Post back if this is what is happening.

SOURCE: KitchenAid Superba ice maker not dispensing ice

this is not a solution, but an explanation- our repair man said that there is a line (tube) containing electric wires that passes from the frig to the door at the bottom of the door, near the hinge. for what ever reason, the line has broken, thus keeping the electric from getting to the motor that dispense ice and water- solution= $700 for a new door; we'll do without

SOURCE: GE Monogram Ice Maker ZDI15 makes an ice sheet but does not drop or melt the sheet into cubes.

Below is a couple og links. One is for the user manual and the other is for parts should. Sounds to me the cutting grid is not getting hot and cutting the ice into cubes. PDF below, click link

http://imgs.ebuild.com/xCat/ebuildWebB/15?ObjectID=1105&Variant=Original

For parts or free answers go to this link and enter your model number into the search feature. Model ZD115C That will take you to a page with pictures and part numbers. The home page you may call or email for answeres. I did see a control board and for some reason the cutter is not heating this will cause the problem. Thanks, Sea Breeze

How long once the ice maker starts making ice should we use it

What kind of ice maker is it? Is it a stand alone or is it inside your freezer? If inside your freezer it will take two days to fill the storage container. Stand alone types usually make 20 lbs of ice in 24 hrs or so.

Ice maker all of a sudden stopped working.

Remove the ice bucket and look for ice hung in the fingers. Use a hair dryer to melt a jammed ice cube. Keep at it till the fingers move free and advance to the next harvest cycle. If the ice mold is empty replace the water valve. If the ice mold is full replace the ice maker.

Ice maker over fills the ice cube tray over flowing into the cube collection bucket, making all the cubes one big clump

most likely the i/m needs replaced. what happens is the coating inside the mold is peeling off and causing the cubes to stick and then melt the cubes instead of releasing them. when this happens it will cause the unit to overfill the next cycle and leak into the bucket.

Kitchen aid ice maker water overflow issue

it's gonna be either the water valve or the gear shaft in the ice maker. replacement ice maker $130.00 water valve $40.00. gear only comes in with module $90.00. low water pressure from plugged water filter can cause this or if a reverse osmosis system is hooked to it. 40 pounds or more is reccomened for the valve to work properly

Marine ice maker problem

Mine has been doing this for years. You can check if the door gasket is good and sealing well. If not you can oder one and easily replace it yourself. Also, if I did not run my generator when I took a short ride ice inside would start to melt while the unit is off, usually around the case perimeter which would drip down to the bottom under the bucket and then when it was put back on it would refreeze under the bucket like a block and make it impossible to remove. I would sometimes just turn it off, put the ice in a ziplock in my frezzer to save it, let it defrost to get the bucket out and dry up the standing water.
