Brand new computor freezes

I just purchase a brand new computor, the Internet works fine, just when I try to play a cd or play one of the game thats already on the computor it freezes and I would have to unplug it or pull out the battery in order to shut it down. DO I need to return it before my refund goes out.
I have a Compaq CQ150, 139wm

It basically means that your game is incompatible (cannot play on ur OS).

All you have to do is:

Go to Safe Mode, To do this, you need to boot up and press f8 until you see the advanced options, go to Safe Mode. Login with the correct details, and go to control panel. Uninstall the game and restart your PC to take effects.

The next time your buying a software for your PC, check to see if it's compatible with your OS.

Try cleaning the laser on ps2 using a cd/dvd cleaner... can purchase it for couple of dollors insert it and let it do its thing.
most likely issue with laser. if this doesnt solve it then it could need replacing

firstly its refurbished so you have to be careful because it may have had problems in the past, it referring to your hard drive by the way. ad secondly maybe its just your black ops disc? try playing black ops on another xbox console and if it freezes than its not your console its just the game =) then get a replacement and dont worry.

My friend bought guitar hero and we tried to play it on my older ps2, would not work. They went and bought a brand new one from walmart and it works fine. I guess it is something with older ps2s

It may freeze because your game Cd could be scratched or bad. Or maybe its not your game CD at all maybe it is your console. What you can try doing is rubbing alcohol on the game CD and see if that works. If not, try blowing into the area where you put the CD into.

Freezes at start of game

This is a problem with the games. Check the back of the CDs for scratches. Try to compare them with games that work. If you see a noticeable difference you can buy a CD cleaner from gamestop and remove the scratches from it .

I downloaded my sims 2 perfectly, and im on a brand new laptop, so there is enough space for my game to work OK. but whenever i try and play the game, it is fine for 2minutes, and then it just freezes...

Most games when downloaded would download with a virus and most viruses are known to freeze a game or program up.
But what mite work is to get yourself a anti virus and i would recomment AVAST 4.8, if that doesnt work then it is recommended that you buy the game and not download it
