SOURCE: taking apart a gogear vibe 4gb
I was trying to find a way to take this apart as well, because a soda exploded inside my car while I was away for about 6 hours, and when I came back it was covered in sticky goo, inside and out. After a little fiddling, it was easy to take apart and reassemble.
On the back, remove the barcode sticker, there is a single very small screw. Remove that. You will need a very thin-shafted cross-headed screwdriver. After its removed, take a razor and slide it into the small crack in the casing closest to screw housing, and pop the back off.
After the back is off, there are 4 more screws to remove, 2 black screws near the bottom, and two smaller silver screws on the top, one on each side of the LCD screen. You may need tweezers to remove the smaller silver screws.
After all 4 screws are removed, take your razor and slide it in between the top of the LCD screen and the casing and pop it out. Take note at how it is removed, because it needs to be reinserted the same way.
If you need to remove the directional pad, its a bit tricky. I used my tweezers to pop the two tabs on the left out, and then popped the rest out going clockwise. It takes some time and patience, because the tabs might pop back in.
There you have it. Not difficult at all.

Firstly, I'd suggest that you do a soft reset of your player. You will find the reset button next to the 'power on' button on the side of the player. Please hold the Reset button using a pen tip or other sharp object for 10 seconds. Now turn it on.
If that doesn't work, I'd suggest that you format your player or repair it using Philips songbird. Contents may be removed by using this function. So make sure to back up your contents.
Format:
On your computer desktop, double-click "My computer". Double-click on the MP3 player's icon. Right-click on the Internal Storage icon and then select "Format".
Repair:
Launch Songbird and then connect your player to your computer. Select "Repair" under the "Tools" menu. Follow the instructions given by the pop-up windows to perform the repair process.
Hope this works.
