The temperature stays below midway until engine accelerates above 3000 rpms then goes up until engine drops to an idle of about 1000 rpms. it starts to overheat at highway speeds but not at speeds around 50 mph. blower inside the car blows cold sometimes and sometimes hot even when heat is on its never a steady heat even if its on heat. changed the thermostat but didnt fix the overheating problem. hoping its not the intake.
Sounds like the intermittent overheating issue is your fan clutch on the front of the radiator fan. When the engine is shut off, grab 1 of the fan blades and see if the fan wobbles. If it does, it's bad. If you can take 1 of the blades of the fan and spin the fan and it goes over 1 revolution, it's bad. If you can see the front of the fan clutch, facing the radiator and there's oil on the front of the fan clutch, it's going out. As far as the a/c blowing, that may be a serpentine belt issue, not certain with out more info. The fan clutch does regulate the proper temperature of the engine and is directly responsible for keeping the head pressure down in your a/c system.
The water pump is working
the problem indicates blocked radiator cores preventing full flow at high rpm
have it flow tested by an accredited radiator shop or just fit a new radiator

It is probably the problem. To make shure that need to change the gaskets, one of the symptoms use to be thet the temp rises when you are running at speed 50+ average, where is supposed that the car gets a lot of air due by the speed and nobody thinks that will be overheated.

How cold is it there and does your engine cool down any while going slow? If it does it may mean you need a hotter thermostat installed, My first thought would be to check the coolant level in the radiator and the coolant reservoir! Hope this helps and Merry Christmas

i believe the heater core broke or got crak chech the thermostat again

remove coolant.remove thermostat remove bottom radiator hose to water pump.put a empty container under the radiator.take a water hose put it where thermostat goes flush out the rust in block.watch the water as it come out the water pump .if stream water is small keep flushing until you get a study sream of clear water. also flush out radiator. lower water pressure dont flush radiator it with high water pressure you could burst it. make clean the over flow jug .make sure it not stopped up.put in a new thermostat and radiator pressure cap. fill radiator with half antifreeze and half water.bleed the coolant system.
SOURCE: no heat on idle approx 700 rpm but lots of heat
When the engine is cold, remove the radiator cap and make sure it is full, check fluid level in reserve tank too.
