Kenneth Cole Reaction - REACTION DIGITAL DUAL TIME RK5080 WHITE Logo
Anonymous Posted on Dec 07, 2006

Hands Stopped The hands on my REACTION DIGITAL DUAL TIME RK5080 watch have quit working. Only the digital time works. I had a watch shop replace the battery but it did not restore function to the hands. They suggested I send the watch to Kenneth Cole for repair, but I could not find the appropriate place to send it. I no longer have the box. PS..How do I set the digital time? I don't have the instructions anymore.

This model watch uses two battery, an lithium battery is for digital and there is another silver oxide battery which were installed beneath the lithiem battery, all you need to do is remove the lithium battery then replace the silver oxide battery, the battery # is 377.

I have the same watch (except mine is black band)and the same problem. I believe the watches are made by Geneva Watch Group of NYC. Their website can be found at: http://www.genevawatchgroup.com/ There is a form to fill out and since this is a problem with the movement, it should be covered by the warranty. You'll have to send your watch to them at: Kenneth Cole Watches c/o Geneva Watch Group 47-50 33rd Street Long Island City, NY 11101 1-800-874-0907 Along with this form: http://www.genevawatchgroup.com/pdf/repair_kennethcole.pdf I think they get you for $8.50 shipping but the repair/replace should be covered under warranty unless you've visibly abused the watch. I just sent mine in today so I'll keep you updated if I hear anything from them.

Also, the instructions are available in this PDF file, pages 27-29: http://www.genevawatchgroup.com/pdf/Kenn...

I have a disallignement of 10 minutes between the digital and the analogical time. The digital time is perfect how can I allign the analogical one?

You have to know that analog time "follows" digital time.Any hour/minutes correction on the display has direct effect on time/minutes hands. Some times, mostly after battery replacement, hands might have declination. That is why there is a function so called "Hands home position adjustment".Using this function you can align both hands to 12/00 position. If there is any declination (I think is your case) you can correct.Try to enable this function by pressing for 4-5 sec the upper left button(A) until "HAND SET" appears. If hands are not aligned exactly to 12/00 position, you must correct by pressing the lower right button (D) for forward movement or the upper right button (B) for backward movement. In fact, minutes hand is aligned, hour hand follows. When both hands are set to 12/00 (home position) press button A again.Time Mode returns to the display.Normally hands will now show exactly according to digital (display) time.I hope this will help.

Half hour lag

Some watches can display dual times (two values) usually off by an integer number of hours + 30 minutes, Read the manual to set the digital display time then correct the analog display. Or just use one of the two.

How do I set my pod 535 watch after I have changed the batteries

Just tried this procedure to replace a watch battery in a POD 535 and did not work...my version of the watch might be different, all I am saying is it did not work with my watch.
The procedure that worked with my watch
When you have replaced the battery reset the watch by placing a small screw driver across the two recessed contact next to the lower battery clip. The digital display will reset and you will see four zero's flashing...if not press the winder button once, or reset the watch again. This process is to get all the hands at twelve O clock position...press and hold the top right hand button and the hands will start revolving...you can let go of the button once the hand are moving. Pressing the top button again will stop the hands and a short press will move the hands in small increments. Once the hands get close to 12 press then press the button once and then press the same button in short pulses to align all the hands on the 12 position. Wait a short time and the watch will find the time signal and both the digital display and hands will be aligned and showing the correct time.

JP1040-09E NON ecodrive (has Battery) digital display froze on same time and hands froze as well now second hand jumps in 2 seconds

The jumping second had is a typical method of telling the user that the battery needs replacing, which would also explain why the hands have stopped.

I have a Waveceptor 3353. If I change time zone I can usually set the watch to show ,say, Paris time both digitally and in analogue. When I try to go back to my home time zone, London, the second hand...

If you cannot find the automatic way of setting the hands, you can manually reset the analogue hands by pressing the mode button until you reach the "HS" mode and using the 2 or 4 o'clock buttons to adjust the hands.

Cannot get the digital settings and the analog hands to match.

mcdevito75 here, Most likely the digital part of your watch is for thetime in your time zone while the analog (hands) time is for a different time zone, (Lodon / New York) visit a small watch repair shop in your area for details.

My watch has stopped working

mcdevito75 here, Unless you have a good knowledge of takeing apart, even just the back off your watch / pocket watch it"s best to look for a small watch repair shop in your area, but here is what you can do to possibly start your watch / pocket watch. If your watch / pocket watch hasn"t been wound in some time and that time varies from watch to watch, the oil in the watch can become a bit thick so as to not allow the mechanism to work smoothly, leave the watch / pocket watch in a warm place, window sill in the sunlight wrapped in a paper towel for anywhere between a few minutes to 1/2 hour, after the watch / pocket watch has been warmed up hopefully the oil in the mechanism has liquified enough to allow the movement to start working. You can also give the movement a little boost, after the watch /pocket watch is warm, pull out the stem as if to set the time of day, move the stem and hands, sometimes this action will get the watch ticking again. If this fails, BEST BET specially if this is an expebsive or keepsake watch, look for a small watch repair shop in your area for serviveing. approx. $45.00
