SOURCE: Pentair Mini-Max NT Pool Heater does not get very hot

The thermistor is a common failure on this heater. With a setting of 104 and the heater shutting off early, the sensor is bad. If you have a digital display, check the water temp with a thermometer and compare that ot the display. Odds are that they are different. The thermistor plugs into the back of the thermostat board and is a thin whire wire set or thibker yellow wire. The white wire sensors are old and most have fialed by now.

SOURCE: gas will not stay ignited

could be dirty heater you have to clean the runners and the smole nozzles that are in the manifold below the gas valve it's like a 9/16 size you pull them off and check make sure they are clear through, sometimes little spiderwebs build up inside them. if it's all clean, then it could be you flame rectifier/ aka: flame sensing rod, that tells the htr that there is fire so it keeps running. Let me know what happened.

SOURCE: My pool heater will not start. The power light is off and the pressure sw is lit.

You must turn on the pump and let water circulate through the pool and the heater before you turn on the heater otherwise you will ruin the heater

I have an mini max nt w 6800 controls ignitor

The voltage to this ignitor should only be 120 volts. If you are getting 240 volts to the ignitor, there is something really wrong with the wiring to the heater or in the heater.
