Powerfast strap gun for romex misfiring

One strap gun misfires badly, it's relatively new and in good condition.

Bought another, it doesn't work right, and it's brand new.

Is it the guns, or the straps (staples)? I'm fed up with Powerfast...great concept, used the strap gun successfully for years, now the quality seems lacking.

I have found that not loading the entire strip of staples stops the jamming. I load only 10-12 that seems to work well.

The staple must be perpendicular to the striker for the gun to work without jamming. It doesn't matter how the gun is held on the wire, angled, but assure that the wire does not push against the plastic of the staple at an angle or it will TIP the staple and the hammer will slip off the staple.
I staple by holding the wire onto the wood with one hand just ahead of the staple - no more jams.

Just a try spray with a generous coat of pb blaster while firing a few then follow with a good coat of household oil then oil before using just something to give it a try

Misfire in cylinder #6. Could be bad spark plug, spark plug wire, cop coil, bad intake/exhaust valve, clogged fuel injector or piston/cylinder problem. What's the year, make, model, engine and have you been following the recommended maintenance schedule for new plugs?

What is the best way to lay down the clear coat over my finish coat on the fender I just painted but ruined when I shot the clear coat?

Refer to the paint manufacturer's data sheet to ensure the new gun has the right setup for clearcoat.

Could be the new gun was supplied setup for spraying a high solids primer or something that needs something like a 0.7 mm fluid tip. Clearcoat would need a 0.4 mm tip, an appropriate needle and a different air cap.

Data sheets are very valuable things. Don't forget to pick one up when you buy spray paint. A viscosity cup is another useful addition to the tool kit along with a graduated paint stirring stick.

I have a 243 cal single shot that snaped when fired. Tried different ammo. still misfires

Firing pin is worn. It may make a slight dent in the primer, but not quite enough to press against the anvil inside of the primer, hence the misfiring

Talk to a gunsmith to see if he has any spares, or has the ability to repair the firing pin.

May still be a bad coil that just hasn't reached the number of misfires to set a trouble code.

My Senco 700XL Nail gun misfires a lot!

The 700XL is a good gun worth repairing and fairly easy to work on. You should be looking for two Senco rebuild kits, part number YK0243 for the top end and YK0244 for the bottom end. After installing all the parts from these kits you'll have a brand new gun. To take it apart, remove the four screws holding the head cap on. Keep track of how everything comes out so you get back together the same way, the kits have good instructions to get all the right o-rings in the right places. The o-rings on the long skinny trigger valve are hard to get off and on but they will stretch enough to do so. Use the assembly lube liberally on all o-rings. The center piece in the cap can be pried out gently with a screwdriver and is hard to get back in but make sure it is fully seated and straight in the cap when you put it back together.

I have a cylinder 6 misfire on my 00 cadillac deville. do u think the plugs need to ne replaced?

Usually, if you only have 1 cylinder misfiring, you have either a bad spark plug or bad spark plug wire. If you replace the cylinder 6 spark plug and still have a misfire condition, replace your spark plug wires. If replacing the plug and wires doesn't fix the problem, replace the ignition coil.
