One strap gun misfires badly, it's relatively new and in good condition.
Bought another, it doesn't work right, and it's brand new.
Is it the guns, or the straps (staples)? I'm fed up with Powerfast...great concept, used the strap gun successfully for years, now the quality seems lacking.
I have found that not loading the entire strip of staples stops the jamming. I load only 10-12 that seems to work well.
The staple must be perpendicular to the striker for the gun to work
without jamming. It doesn't matter how the gun is held on the wire,
angled, but assure that the wire does not push against the plastic of
the staple at an angle or it will TIP the staple and the hammer will
slip off the staple.
I staple by holding the wire onto the wood with one hand just ahead of the staple - no more jams.
Just a try spray with a generous coat of pb blaster while firing a few then follow with a good coat of household oil then oil before using just something to give it a try
