Frigidaire affinity washer FAFS4272LA0 is cutting on by itself with no lights on, the door locks, then when I turn the knob it says 0:03 draining.

I understand that you want to know if the door sensor is bad if the door lock switch is not lighting up on your Frigidaire Affinity washer, model# ATF7000E. Just because the light is not lighting up does not mean that the door switch is bad. It could possibly be that light that is not functioning correctly. The diagnostic test is used to check individual component function only. TO START THE TEST: • Turn the Program Knob to the start position, Spin Only. • Press Start/Pause to start the cycle and save it. • Press Cancel to stop the cycle and turn off the LEDs. • Press Cancel again to turn on the LEDs. • Within 5 seconds, press and hold the Options and Start/Pause buttons until LEDs start sequentially chasing, then release buttons. 1. All the LEDs will sequentially light. Pressing a button below a light cluster will light all the LEDs in that cluster at one time to confirm functionality. 2. Turn the program knob (1) click clockwise from the start position. The hot water solenoid will activate and hot water should enter through the detergent compartment. 3. Turn the program knob (2) clicks from the start position. The bleach water solenoid will activate and cold water should enter through the bleach compartment. 4. Turn the program knob (3) clicks from the start position. The bleach and the wash water solenoids will activate and cold water should enter through the softener compartment. 5. Turn the program knob (4) clicks from the start position. The door lock solenoid will deactivate and the loading door can be opened.When the door is opened, the drum light should turn on. 6. Turn the program knob (5) clicks from the start position. The washer will fill and tumble. Once tumbling has started, the Boost Heater (if so equipped) will turn on. 7. Turn the program knob (6) clicks from the start position. The drain pump & door lock solenoid will activate and the washer will operate in high spin. 8. Turn the program knob (7) clicks from the start position. The control will signal the last error code. Exiting Diagnostic Mode There are two options for exiting theDiagnosticTestmode and returning the washer to normal operation: a) Unplug the power cord, wait 5-8 seconds, then reconnect the power cord OR b) Turn the program knob clockwise 2 or 3 clicks after the start position. Press Options and Start/Pause buttons together for a few seconds until wash cycle LEDs appear.

Make sure you are allowing the washer to completely finish its cycle before opening the door. It is normal for the door to lock at the end of a cycle. The locking mechanism keeps owners from opening the door before all of the water has been drained. If the door on the washer is locked, select the "Drain" or "Spin" options on the front-load washer. This will completely drain the water from the system and unlock the door, allowing you to open it.

under 1st yr warr, sure if thats he issue they would cover, it, a clogged drain pump may cause the same problem though , not being able to drain water , the pump would just hum.

Try holding the 'options' & 'select' buttons together till the door lock button comes on. This is the child lock function. You can do it again for the lock to come off. Hold down for over 3 seconds

The control is most likely bad. If lights flash on front let me know which ones and how many as it will sometimes tell me what the failure is. Thanks, please leave feedback or contact me again for more info if you need it.

Kimberely, The err 47 means that the control board is not sensing the door lock. First try unplugging the machine for 1 minute and see if it comes back to normal. If it doesn't put it into the door lock test, with the door closed, by doing the following: Turn the program knob to drain spin. Press pause cancel to turn off the LEDs. Within 5 seconds, press and hold the option and pause cancel buttons until the LEDs start sequentially chasing, then release the buttons. All the LEDs will sequentially light. Turn the program knob 4 clicks from the start position clockwise, the door lock solenoid will activate. The door should be locked. Turn the knob one more click clockwise and it should unlock. You can toggle back and forth to test it. If the door lock is working and you are still getting this code, then its a control board problem. You should call for factory service.
