Machine is running win98SE I installed card, went to bios and set it to display pci first. Had forceware 81.98 on desktop to load. During setup it says "no nvidia chip found on this system" and setup fails. In my Aida program (component id) it says this card is Nvidia Riva tnt2 m64 pci........ So I downloaded riva driver from nvidia site that says it's for all OS. It won't install either. Am I doing something wrong in install, is the card bad, or could it just be incompatible?
I did a little research for you and found you are not alone in having this problem. It appears this issue arises from the use of the newer drivers. Try an older version driver, making sure to first remove the previously installed driver, until you find one that works. Here is a link i found where the user reports success. Windows 9x/Me: ftp://download.nvidia.com/Windows/45.23/4...n9x_english.exe And finally, from http://forum.worldwindcentral.com/showthread.php?t=2503&page=2 , a user reports this (for WinXP): "I was able to download a driver for the NVidia TNT2 from the NVIDIA website, but you have to go to the frequently asked questions (FAQ) section to get the link to the driver that works for the TNT2. Here is the link: http://www.nvidia.com/object/winxp_2k_66.93.html The driver is from November 1994. It will, among other things, provide a host of resolutions, including the previously un-available 1068 x 1050 required for 22" widescreen monitors. Hope this helps. Good luck!" Good Luck!
