My Maytag MMV5000ADW stopped working.

I unplugged it for a "HARD RESTART" NG. The "Start" button and "Cancel" button do not work, but the unit works properly when the "Add Minute" button is pressed. Is there a CONTROL PANEL replacement available for this unit?

Nuke, Sounds like your touch pad is going south. Why dont you kill the power, drop the control assy. and unplug the ribbon of the control panel to the board. Take an eraser and clean the ends of the ribbon where it connects to the board. Put it back in and see if that made a difference. If not I would suspect it's the touch panel. The part number I have for this is 53001508. Good luck.

There is a short either in the keypad or the power board.  Unfortunately parts for this one are not available anymore.  If you could get the parts it would cost you well over $100 and would be a better idea to replace the microwave.  If this only happens when you add time then I would just use the microwave without using that option.  Would appreciate a solved rating for expert advice.

SOURCE: MMV5000BDW Touch panel works intermittently

You have a failing keypad.

If you (or someone you know) might want to replace it yourself, I have uploaded a handy guide with pictures showing you what's typically involved.

You can usually find helpful exploded view diagrams and order parts by entering your full model number here.

There should also be a "mini-manual" hidden inside the unit behind the control panel or hidden on the left side behind the grille, which is very helpful when troubleshooting & testing.

If you would like to have us do this for you, we do that for $39.95 plus part costs.

Please feel free to contact me directly if you need more help.

We're happy to help you with free advice and we'd appreciate your thoughtful rating of our answer.

SOURCE: i need to replace my maytag mmv5000 microwave door assembly

Normally you have to separate the door panels (as shown in the attached photo) and then you'll see the previously hidden screws you need to remove.

Or you can watch a YouTube video (not a video I made) that demonstrates how it's done.

Try a hard rest of the electronics to restore unit to factory defaults. If that does not do it your logic board has failed and if not too expensive you might want to replace it. Check it out at site Search Over 2 1 Million Appliance Parts

did it come into contact with water at anytime, if yes than this is probably the reason ask an electrician to come and have a check or if it is working fine you can continue using but make sure that no liquid will spill over inside

Just stopped working flashing a p and some numbers but no buttons will work.

The first thing I would suggest is a hard reset. Unplug the unit for a minute or so. Then plug it back in, set the clock and try again.

If that doesn't work, leave it unplugged for maybe an hour.

If you still need help, to allow us to help you effectively (at no charge), please post a
NEW problem to FixYa, and please include your brand name and the full model number from the tag in or on the unit, your symptoms as shown below:

Unlocking child lock on the sharp microwave model R316FSC

The Sharp Microwave/Convection oven I have says to touch the Custom Help button, the number "1", then touch the Start Button. To turn off the child lock, press the Stop button.
Or just unplug it, wait 1 minute, and plug in.

I just bought a Maytag over the range microwave 7 months ago and already the start button, timer button and a few more do not work - what could problem be??

Do you always use the vent fan when cooking on the stove top to keep steam and grease out of the controls? I always recommend that.

The first thing I would suggest is a hard reset. Unplug the unit for a minute or so. Then plug it back in, set the clock and try again.

If that doesn't work, leave it unplugged for maybe an hour.

If it's still failing, since it's less than one year old, it should be fully covered under warranty. I'd suggest contacting the manufacturer to get it fixed free.

Quit working

SE probably means a sensor error.

The first thing to try is a "hard reset". Unplug it from the power line for a few minutes, plug it back in, set the clock, then try again.

Otherwise, it may have a problem with the control panelm such as moisture or contamination or a bad connection.

Let us know if the hard reset doen't fix it, and please write back with more details if you need further help.

MMV5000BAW maytag over-the-range microwave

Found this in the GE section instead of Maytag, but we're happy to answer it anyway.

The first thing to try is a "hard reset". Unplug it from the power line for a few minutes, plug it back in, set the clock, then try again.

Let us know if the hard reset doen't fix it.

If not, you may have a shorted keypad or bad control panel, either of which we can repair economically.

Please write back with more details if you need further help.
