The cartridges may need to be cleaned by the printer. Check for this option on your user's manual, they will usually refer to it as a nozzle check/clean.
If the cartridge is clogged and does not unclog replace the ink cartridge. Contrary to what people might think these cartridges have a shell life and can be faulty out of the box.

Have a Costco refill (74XL) for my J5750, that was working fine. got "cartridge on right needs replacing" message. took it to Costco and told the cartridge is almost 75% full. Is there a way to reset/

It could be possibly defective cartridge or it is not filled correctly, try replacing the cartridge and if that does not work, it could possibly be defective printer and you may have to recycle it.

Hp officejet j5750

go to the HP website, pick products enter model number/tag and see if you can order new CD software or download an image on cd/dvd on another pc(if your pc is not working)
if this is a printer not a pc, do the same thing but download the software from the HP site to your pc to install it from online
not sure what hp officejet is

I have apple ibookg4 trying to hook up hp officejet j5750 all in one

Not a very clear question. However, you need the software driver which you can find on the HP web site.
Assuming you have actually physically connected the two items together, download the driver and this will assist you to print.
