Adaptec 2110S Driver for WIndows Server 2008

I have an older Adaptec 2110S SCSI controller that I understand does not have (and will not have) drivers for Windows Server 2008. Can you confirm that drivers are not available and if that is the case, is there a newer equivalent Adaptec controller I can use with my four SCSI Ultra 320, 10K, 80-pin Seagate drives? Thanks.

Windows Server 2008 is still a little new to get accurate drivers for it. Check on Adaptec.com and ask if they have a generic SCSI controller that will work for Windows Server 2008.

How can I find the Windows Server 2008 driver files for the Adaptec CERC SATA1.5/6ch?

OK, EZPZ.
These drivers will install when you first start installing windows 2008 server. You'll see a option that says: Hit F4 for any further drivers needed for windows to install. I think it's F4. You can place these drivers on a thumb drive OR a CD - you must extract the files on to a thumb drive. At the very start of the windows install you'll see the option for additional drivers.

First screen - Success

SCSI - Yes, that is correct. Correct, but This isn't a SCSI controller

If you choose the SCSI driver from Dell, on the disk, you won't get...

This screen. This screen means that windows could not find any driver for your drive and there for, you must start over - Same steps.
But make sure you choose the correct driver - you might have to try a few that are in the list.

Greatest of luck - EZPZ

Install XP on SCSI HDD - Instellistation Z Pro 6223-CTO

Have you tried putting the drivers on a flash drive.

It is a method I have used to get drivers into the windows install.
Try it with the "press F6 to install drivers" during the text setup phase but make sure they are the dos level drivers that you try first !

If that fails then try the windows level drivers

Worked quite well on lots of early SATA stuff so you have nothing to loose.
You might also want to check that the various usb settings in bios are set to legacy etc too.

Adaptec AHA-2940 UW PCI SCSI CONTROLLER

If you are using Windows XP, the drivers are embedded. It will automatically recognize the SCSI card. For other OS try http://www.adaptec.com/en-US/support/scsi/2940/AHA-2940UW/ S. Mohan.

Problem with scsi driver proliant ml 370 for NT4

Are you attempting to boot from the Windows CD?

If you are booting the server from a Windows installation disk and it is unable to detect the hard drive, this typically means the following things.
You need to provide the driver for the RAID controller of the server (this can vary, depending on the version of the ML370 e.g. G4/G5)
If it still cannot detect the hard drive after providing the driver for the RAID controller or if there is not a driver available for NT4, it may not support the controller.
In this case you can remove the RAID set by entering the RAID setup (could be LSI or adaptec). NOTE THIS WILL DESTROY ALL DATA ON THE DISKS THAT ARE A PART OF THIS RAID SET.

Raid 0 on Intellistation 6221?

That particular work station comes with both IDE and SCSI drive interface controllers. The IDE drive should be used for your OS. The SCSI drives for your data storage. Now, the issue is to get the SCSI to work in RAID_0 as I understand.

You iwll need a RAID controller such as Adaptec AHA-3940AU WD SCSI Host Controller, which may be found on eBay (used) for a very affordable price. The driver software may be downloaded directly from Adaptec, so I suggest you do that in the iterim peroid, and store drivers on a USB thumb drive.

Hope this helps you.

I can´t use a serial ata disk in a proliant 350

I know ATA disks are cheaper , but they don't last as long or are less reliable.

I do not recommend mixing SCSI and ATA .

Use one or the other , not both.

Do not try , unless your server is non critical.
If it is non critical , why bother with server , a PC will do as well.

Thanks
David
