Interference on screen

Had this monitor for a couple of years and am using an ATI radeon 9700 card. But I have started getting interference across the screen (like snow). This is worse around the mouse pointer. Also there are pixels that appear in various colours but they disappear when I scroll the screen down. Can anyone help please please please?

Are you able to test this monitor on another computer as it sounds like a graphics card fault and not the monitor.

My radeon 9700 keep on losing contact on power and hang?

You could try to reinsert the card into the slot on the motherboard it's in. Also be sure to check wether your monitor cables are inserted properly. If reinserting the card doesn't help, either your card is broken or the power supply doesn't supply enough power for the card to run. The latter only applies if you have recently changed something about your computer, and the 9700 has started failing after that. I hope this helps, Yannick.

Ati radeon agp card

Hi Rafael83,

There may be afew things that may be wrong. One, the video card may be bad, two the motherboard may be bad, or three your power supply may not have enough wattage to power your video card. Or it coud be all of the above.

Sincerely,

Agent Xiong

Comparable cards to the ATI All In Wonder 9700 Pro 128 MB

Hello there. The Radeon 9700 Pro was a high end graphics card in its time. Today the latest Radeon cards are 3870X2, 3870 and 3850 models. The 3850, while mid-high end range, would be a substantial upgrade from the Radeon 9700 Pro.

If you are planning to upgrade your system, make sure you choose the correct type of card (AGP/PCI-E) and that your current system has a good enough power supply to power a new upgrade.

Hope this helps.

Radeon 9700 Pro Family

Remove your card. Clean the AGP slot & the video card. Reinstall the card. Still having trouble. Download the latest driver, below: Befor you install the latest driver package. Update windows. You will need .Netframwork ver. 2.0. Uninstall your current driver through Control Panel, ADD/Remove programs.
If the uninstall fails download and run ATI's uninstall utility: http://searchna.ati.com/promosearch/?site=us-en&la=en&qt=cat-uninstaller&selectsite=ATI&sp_a=sp10039240&sp_p=all&sp-x-1=col&sp_f=ISO-8859-1&sp_q=cat-uninstaller&Search.x=9&Search.y=8

Swap 9800 Pro for 9700 Pro

You must uninstall the current driver and reinstall the driver for the 9800 Pro first:
http://ati.amd.com/support/driver.html
Power supply recommended is 300watt for each, so that is not a factor. It would have to be a driver conflict.
