Krups XP7240 leaks

I have a Krups XP7240 which is about 7 months old. The filter between the coffee and the water is clogged so water will not pass through. I always clean, decalcify, change water filter whenever indicated ... yet the filter is still clogged. The frother works.

I tried to remove the top of the unit. I can get the cleaning tablet dispenser off easily. The problem I am having is removing the coffee bean container. I do not know how to remove the grind selector knob without forcing it off ... is it glued on? I think I can get to the coffee filter and clean once this is part is removed.

Thank you for your help.

Grinder selector can simply be pulled off. After removing two screws in bean container, the transparent container can be lifted off by releasing the clip beneath the selector knob.. Front aluminum bezel comes off by lifting upwards (no screws). Four screws behind the removed bezel, two below the water tank and one below the bean container after removing it. Good luck!

The coffee is not coming out of the filter the right way it drips out the sided of the filter and leaks on the counter and we only get a 1/2 pot of coffee and the filter is always full of coffee, it does not drain out into the pot.

The grind selector knob can be removed with the following steps: 1) Remove screw on side near grinder (do not let the screw fall into grinder, :-) ), 2) use sharp knife or similar to pry off cover with three dots. This should be easy. 3) Now you can rotate the grind selector and see that the white clear plastic does not rotate and the black does. There are two little pieces (one black, one clear plastic) on opposite side from grinder that slide over eavh other to keep this knob 'locked' into place. 4) again with a sharp pointed knife or similar you can separate these two pieces to 'unlock' them. This is made easier by lifting the side of the bean holder by the grinder gently and tipping it up. Be careful not to force anything too much. The black part should pop off. 5) Now you can lift off the clear bean holder.

After this good luck. We made it farther into the machine, but could never get to where we needed to go to fix our problem.

Krups must be congratulated for designing a machine that cannot be repaired and must be replaced with new purchases.

I can remove the bean container by pulling off the grind selector knob and removing the only screw.
Then remove the scute for the cleaning tablets. Then remove the two screws that were covered by the scute. Remove the water tank. Under the tank remove the two screws.
Then the trick where everyone seems to look for: The facade of aluminum can be moved off. Set the machine on the floor and pull hard upwards at the facade. This comes off (pull hard!) and four screw are uncovered. Remove them and pull then back housing of the machine (remove first the containers/drawers). Now the inner parts are freely accessible. Take photos and remove the components from top till bottom to get to the bad parts that need replacement. Good luck!

Someone please advice how to remove the grinder wheel/blade? I removed two screws securing the grinder assembly but unsure whether the nut below is removed by turning clockwise or counter-clockwise? Thanks

I had some water problems with mij krups and try to solve it. Now it gives an error 0D. What does this mean?

I have a Krups XP7240 that came with the same error code (0d). I believe that the XP7240 and the XP7245 is pretty much identical inside. The sollution for me was that the connector to the front was loose. After pressing down on the connector, the machine worked perfectly again.

KRUPS XP7240 leaking water

My XP7240 has the same problem. I went through all cleaning cycles and the filter in the boiler still gets clogged up with coffee oils. This causes back pressure and blows the boiler seal out. Easy replacement if you can turn a screw driver.
Part number for Seal: MS-5015004. You might as well change the Jack too. (the part that slides into the boiler that compresses the ground coffee. (this is a redesigned double seal unit) Part Number MS-0697072.
Both these parts you can get at http://www.krups.com/Tools/Contact/Contact.htm choose your country and email the parts list. Mine cost in Australia $27.00 including shipping.
Good luck.

I have a problem with my Krups XP7240, it is

You can just removed the water tank filter (the cylinder inside the water tank) and washed it up. (Actually the filter should probably be replaced). Fix it back in the water tank and tide it safety upon the exit ring.

Don't forget to unplug the machine BEFORE doing this.
Next, restart the machine and let it perform the automatic self testing.

Machine Fault Error No 06 at start up Model is Krups XP7240 Expresso - not listed in product list

The error 06 (comes after start up) and machine in auto test - happens because more than one problem. One of the compulory services, rinsing, change water filter, cleaning OR / AND descaling is out of date. Start off with one at a time and do ALL.
Reconfirm it by going into "Product Information" and confirm that the cycles since previous cleaning, descaling and water filter replacement is ZERO.
Your machine will NOT have start up problems any longer

I have a 12 month old KRUPS XP7240 coffee maker. It has just ceased to grind the beans. I suspect that the grinder or hopper to the grinder is blocked? Any suggestions how it might be...

You need to open the machine which is easy see my other post on leaking krups xp7240. The grinder can be taken out by removing two torix screws. Probably the electical brushes are gone. Take the grinder engine to a repair shop where they replace them.
