Turned camera on and getting message ""Memory Card is Write Protected", cannot take pics or delete off card or do anything to card for that matter. Take card out and can write to internal memory. What is the problem. Cheers Sal
Inspect your SD card carefully. Some SD cards come with a write-protect lock switch on the side of the card. When looking at an SD card from the top there is one required notch on the right side (the side with the diagonal notched corner) and on the left side there is usually a switch. This is the write-protect switch. When this write-protect switch is in the down position (away from the end that is inserted) then it is write protected and read-only. When the switch is in the up position it is write enabled.
I have tried moving the switch to both locations and it still won't work
THANKS VERY MUCH NOW WORKS FINE. MILLERS

I have just taken my cart to a Photo Shop and printed some photos from my card and when I put the card back in the camera it wont let me do anything the message "card write protected" keeps coming up. I then put it back into the same machine and my Photos are still there but I cant view them on my camera ot I cant take any pictures,
Yea I have a similar problem - I took a bunch of pics when all of a sudden I started to get an error message from the camera saying something about unable to save or something to that effect, and now when I've try to d/l the pictures from my camera it does nothing and eventually turns the camera off. I tried taking the card out twice and cleaning it with a soft cloth twice with no effect, I've removed the battery twice and replaced it with two fully charged newer batteries. I'd really like to retrieve these pics of my fishing trip to Canada so if someone out there can help I would totally appreciate any help!!!!

Hello. I got a problem. I was taking pictures yesterday and after a while when I again switched on my camera, got a message that card is protected from recording. I took it out, unlocked it, inserted, again got the same message. When I took it out again it was locked to my surprise. What shall I do?

I only have ONE pic that is protected, and I need to know HOW to remove the protection from that pic, so that I can erase it! All others are workable...
I have the same problem with my 2 memory cards, and they don't have a lock-onlock notch on the side. They are the mini-card that you insert into a larger one. So I think it is a camera problem. Can anyone help me with this... I am not travelling in Asia...
