I have a Hitachi 50 inch ultravision digital tv. We bought it from a friend and the lighting in the tv has always been dim. We were watching tv and all of a sudden everything goes out and we hear a buzzing noise. We turned it off and back on unplugged and plugged back in and nothing. The lights for lamp and temp are both blinking. What does this mean and how do i fix it?

Good Day;
Try this:
Symptom: All Front LED indicators are flashing in sequence: Power-->Temp-->Lamp-->Power......continuously
Cause: Replace Lamp . This symptom may happen all the time or it may be intermittent. It is normal if it occurrs from time to time, See OG under TV Front Indicators explanation notes.
Good Luck, big IRISH.

Sounds like the DLP lamp failed. You can decipher the Hitachi flashing red light. That should help to be sure.
The DLP lamp replacement is fairly straightforward and can be done with minimal tools
