My Canon PowerShot SD1100 IS Digital Elph won't turn on. I recharged the battery and put it back in, but every time I push the "on" button there are several beeping noises and the screen says "Lens error, restart camera."

THE ONLY THING I HAVE BEEN ABLE TO FIND ON THIS PROBLEM IS THAT IT CAN BE CAUSED BY A VARIETY OF THINGS. IT SAYS IT CAN HAPPEN IF DROPPED,BUMPED, OR HIT AND THAT THE POSSIBLE CORRECTIONS ARE EITHER SWITCHING THE CAMERA ON AND OFF REPEATEDLY, OR GENTLE PRESSURE ON THE LENS WHEN YOU TURN IT ON TO TRY TO ALIGN THE TRACK. NOT MUCH HELP FROM CANON. THE OTHER IS SEND IT FOR REPAIR, BUT I CAUTION AGAINST THIS, BECAUSE 1 REVIEW STATED CANON WANTED $130.00 TO REPAIR THE CAMERA, WHICH IS WAY OVER 50% OF THE TOTAL COST. IF THESE FIXES DON'T WORK, YOU MAY BE LOOKING FOR ANOTHER CAMERA. SORRY. IF YOU NEED MORE HELP, REPLY TO ARCLIGHT1217

I have a Canon Powershot SD1100 IS gigital elph and when i turn my camera on it says "Card Locked!" I don't know how to unlock my memory card or how it was even locked in the first place....

Take the memory card out of your camera.
Hold it in your right hand.
On the left side you will see a very small slider switch. It will probably be in the down position.
Slide it to the up position and see what happens.
This switch toggles the card between Read/Write and Read Only. If it is on read only it locks the card.

Trying to upload pictures to my computer from my canon powershot sd1100 IS digital elph camera but it says "communication error" how do i fix this so i can upload them?

This type of problem arises many times,at first they work but the more you use them the terminals tend to loosen up,even if the camera is new.So most of the time my best solution for that is to purchase a multiple memory card reader(usb 2.0).Most don't require any installer, just plug the reader to your computer and slide in any memory card you have and you will be able to upload any media you want. What I have is Ohm USB multi card reader/writer,it has been doing it's job since I got it.

View screen won't work

Think that you might have accidentally pressed the DISP or DISPLAY button on the back of your camera. This manually turns the LCD display on and off to save batteries. You would then use the optical viewfinder in its place. To turn the screen back on, just press the DISP button one more time.

Computer Not Recognizing Canon PowerShot SD1100 IS Elph A

Depending on your OS, you can download the latest driver for your system directly from Canon here. Remember to select your OS in the dropdown tab to be able to see the available downloads.

But I'd also recommend that you take this as an opportunity to consider utilizing a much safer method of downloading your pictures and videos. Please see this link, as it describes the use of a USB card reader as a much easier, faster, and less error prone way to download your photos. Note that card readers are also VERY inexpensive these days (some places less than $2 online with shipping).

It won't turn on

Did you accidentally press the DISP button on the back? This button manually turns the display on and off in order to save battery power (thus you could use your optical viewfinder to take many more pics than you normally would be able to). To turn it back on, turn on the camera and try pressing the DISP button.
