Sometimes a watch will be off center due to shock, dead battery etc. Symptoms are;
hands don’t line up, digital and analog time doesn’t match, Compass function doesn’t
have the hands exactly opposite etc. This can all be fixed. The Synchronization
function can be used:
1. Activate Crystal
2. Tap center until you are the unit’s screen (12h or 24h, F ft or C m).
3. Push and hold (at least five seconds) the center crown
4. Watch will beep and word (SYNCHRO) will appear in the display.
5. Use the top + button to line up the minute hand right on the 12.
6. Use the bottom – button to line up the hour hand right on the 12.
7. When finished, press crown and you will go back to time.

How do you set the day of the week?

Since you didnt tell me what KIND of watch it is I am giving you a general instructions.

  • Wait until the second hand is at zero (the top of the dial). Then pull the crown knob out as far as it will go to set the time on your watch. Turn the knob in either direction and look at the three additional hands on the time dials of your watch: the minute hand, the hour hand and the 24-hour hand.
  • Step 2 Stop turning the knob when all minute and hour hands are pointing to the correct time. Pay special attention to the 24-hour hand so that you have a.m. or p.m. correct.
  • Step 3 Push the knob back in exactly when a new minute is starting so that your second hand will be correct. Use another clock you know to be accurate as a reference, such as the government clock available online.
  • Step 4 Pull the knob out halfway so you can set the date. Turn it counterclockwise until you notice the date on the watch changing. Stop it and push the knob back in to its starting position once you reach the correct one. Try to set the date before 9 p.m. If you set it after that time, it may not register with your watch that it should switch the date at midnight. If this happens with your watch, just fix it the next day.
  • Step 5 Set the chronograph, or big dial, on your watch. It works like a stopwatch to let you time activities for up to one hour. Push the top button on the side of your watch to start it. Push it again to stop it. Push the bottom button on the side of your watch to reset it.

  • It would certainly help if next time you let us know what kind of watch it is you have, Best of luck.

Sweep second hand sticking on colibri pocket watch. How can I correct. I just had battery replaced.

mcdevito75 here, This is a very common problem easily fixed, when the battery was change the repair prerson could have interfered with the seconds hand bending it ever so slightly so it hits the other hands or it became loose, return to the person who changed the battery, they"ll take the back off and fix that seconds hand. Remember this may be no ones fault so I don"t know about any extra charges for service on your watch. This is just my info to you.

SEIKO 7D48.... WATCHING SHOWING CORRECT TIME(WORKING PROPERLY).. BUT SECOND HAND NOT MOVING.

Second hand could be stuck against the crystal inside or it is slipping on the shaft. Both of these conditions can be fixed but the case back would have to be removed and the movement removed to fix this problem

i wind the clock hands forward until the calendar date and week day changes and then i re-wind the hands until it comes to the correct time. when i re-wind the hands, the week day goes back to the correct date and the calendar date does not go back by one day. i don't know if this is the "correct" way to do it, but it works.

    HOW TO CHANGE DATE

The Skagen watches have  two-step stem; fully pulled out will change the time and partially pulled out will change the date (only goes one way so try turning it counter-clockwise or clockwise - I forget which is correct).  It's easier to find the date length by extending it all the way and then go back toward the case.  It won't change the date if you run it through a 24-hour cycle - you have to do the half-way thing.  Hope this helps.
