Model 800 Dremel cordless won't work

After fully charging the battery of my model 800, 10.8 volt, variable speed Lithium ion battery Dremel, I can't get it to work more than a second or two at a time.

It dies and won't restart unless I wait, or disconnect the battery and put it back on. When this was new, it worked fine until the battery died, and has never worked since.

I thought the battery wasn't charging at first, but today it works for a second, then quits.

Any ideas?

I have the same problem. I have two batteries and after charging them both, the same thing is happening. The tool starts OK but after 10 seconds or so, dies. Both batteries are doing this.

I got mine new as a gift, but didn't get around to using it for nearly a year. I charged it overnight, and when I went to use it, it would start and run, but would cut off if I put it under even the lightest of loads. I couldent even polish with it.

Okay, I followed the advice by the one previous fix, and discharged the battery. I sat and switched it on and ran it until it died, and disconnected and reconnected the battery, and did it all over again and again (it took about an hour) until the battery was TOTALLY drained. The next day I put it on the charger for 10 hours. It works perfectly now. I can't believe how long it will run on a charge, and it is really powerful. Thanks for the advice.

Ryobi Trimmers unscrew halfway down the shaft (so it fits in the box). If this gets loose, the trimmer will stop working. Simply tighten the connection between the upper and lower half.

Dremel 10.8V cordless model 800 (8000) The speed is stuck on the high setting (variable doesn't work now) and battery lights no longer work. I'm assuming its the switch and now needs expensive repair. Only...

You are right,it will need a slider switch replacement,But first-is it still under warranty? If it is call the costumer support on their 1-800 ...number.If not you could DIY it.Opening the drill is not that hard and as long as you observe the proper orientation and where every wire is connected to,you will be able to disassemble the unit.Inside you could see where the slider switch is connected and how it is positioned.Usually the surface of the switch is burned out and this you have to replace. The next problem is locate the part number it is usually found printed under the slider part. And the next big thing is to order the part and where to order it.Consult the user manual that came with Dremel unit and the ordering address is there.

Dremel Stylus AC/DC Adapter 230/240V Transformer primary is open circuit any idea what the AC output of the transformer is. I should be the same for 110V input transformer. If I can find the output voltage from the transformer I can probably get a replacement

Cut out tools are available in both cordless and corded versions. Cordless tools can be more convenient. The corded versions are slightly more powerful than cordless.
