Control pod on bose companion 3

Suddenly one day the sound stopped working and the light on the control pod appears very dim. I can hear faint music but cant control the volume. Cant get any crisp sound like before. Music is so faint I have to put my ear to the speaker to hear anything. Can this be resolved by replacing the control pod? Or do I have to replace the whole system? Thank you.

I heard a loud sound coming from the woofer and suddenly the sound went to faintly heard

The control pod does not respond to tapping between mute and ubnmute. Currently it is unnuted and I barely hear any music. I've connected my monitor in-line speakers to test the audio card and the audio card works. Appears the problem is with the control pod

It is exactly as rbszochet30 described. Is there anything else I can check? I know the sound card is functioning properly.

Control pod failure on bose companion speakers , the sound stops

check your wiring connections, sounds like you may have intermittent connection somewhere, and this is the most likely culprit. be certain that all connections are solid. multi pin plugs are notorious for having one bad pin.

Hi, I bought BOSE Companion 3 Series II in May 2009. They were fabulous and were working fine until today. They have now suddenly stopped working. Even the LED on the Pod is not lighting-up. Can anybody...

This appears to be a power supply issue, since Bose does all warranty and out of warranty work I recommend you get it serviced through them, they carry all the parts that are not available to anyone else.

Anyway to use Bose companion 3 system without the control pod?

had the same issue. Trial and error - I tried shorting every pair in the control pod dock with a paper clip. Turns out it is totally possible to bypass. You need two: top row, right side to third row, one from the right (below it by two spaces), and second row (there are only two in the second row, connect them). One tells it to turn on, the other passes audio through. I'm only getting sound from the right channel, so probably need to connect one more pair...

Bose Control Pod won't work

Try changing the plug on the control pod, those plugs are fairly weak and prone to breakage. Does there appear to be any strain at all on the plug itself? if so then that is where I would start. If you have a series 2 then I can help you, or if you can find out if the 2 control pods are the same, that would be fine too, but I have a series 2 system companion 3 and if needed I will cut my cable to trace the wiring and then replace your plug for you. my cost for this would be $40, that includes return shipping with priority mail.

Can't hear voice of singer on speakers, more of an echo sound

Hello Shemon
Well, there is 2 option here, 1) your sound speakers are not connected corretly or in the right slots on the sound card.
2) your sound card, (internal or external) you have to use the mixer on software to put the right channels for the music you heard. try configuring in control panel, in multimedia devices, the speakers. for 5.1 system, or 2 way speakers or 3
try again

Dim Light on Control Pod...very low volume output

I just fixed this exact problem. There is only 1-2 volts feeding the preamp IC's pin 4 JRC 2059. Positive side of C313 should be 12v(B+ to IC's) found shorted transistor just above C313. Collector goes to V+ 15v from power supply, Emitter feeds the preamp IC's. I used a 2sc3904 (NTE123Ap) unit back up and running
