Keylees entry and remote controls do not work at the same time

I replaced the batteries in my remotes for a Craftsman 1/2 HP garage door opener # 139.53664ART2. In trying to reprogram the remotes I erased all the codes and the remotes and keyless entry both did not work. I tried reprogramming and can program the remotes(I have 2) or the keyless entry. I can get either one to work by themselves but I can not get both to work at the same time. I have a 2 car garage, each with the same opener and keyless entry pad.
In trying to follow the directions in the manual, it says the the STR lite should blink when pressed and released. My light stays on steady when it is pudshed and released. I have a premium control console but I can not program either the remotes or keyless entry when I follw the directions to program if you have a premiun Control Panel.

thanks,

Bob Wascher

I have the exact same problem. It's a Chamberlain Security+. Either the keyless entry or the remote will work, not both. I have gotten each of them programmed to work individually, but once one is learned, the opener will not learn the other.

I, too, have the same problem.  Once I get the garage to learn the remotes, it forgets the keyless entry code.  And once I get the garage to learn the keyless entry code, it then forgets the remotes. . .

I've the same issue with the Craftsman 139.53675SRT2 GDO. I can get either the two car remotes or the keyless digital pad to work but not both at the same time.

There are two types of technology with this operator (rolling code and non-rolling code). This operator will except one or the other but not both. It is not uncommon for a rolling code (Security+) remote or keyless to lose the "rolling"part of its technology and become a non-rolling code device so it is not compatable with the rolling code technology. You will need to replace the one remote or keyless that is not like the others.

Found this to be 100% accurte. I have two doors, each with a keyless pad and a remote. As a side note, you must clear all codes and program the keyless pad first, then the remote. However, in my case one of my remotes went "non-rolling" at some point, where if the keyless was programmed first (it must be) the remote would then not be recognized. The 'bad' remote would still work if the keyless pad was not programmed.

My remote controls only work when I am in the garage

Are you sure that the replacement batteries are good? Test them for current output before installing? How about the antenna that is affixed to door opener - is it there to receive the remote's signal?

If batts are good as well as the antenna then the receiver portion of the opener has lost gain and is in need of repair.

I have a Craftsman 139.48847 1/2 Hp garage door opener. I can get either the remotes to or the keyless entry pad to work but not at the same time, Any suggestions?

If you have more than one remote and they all work but when you try to program the keypad it causes the remotes to quit working then your keypad is bad.

Trouble with programing garage remotes and keyless entry pad

Either the keypad is the wrong model for your opener or it has reverted to an earlier technology and needs to be replaced. It is important that you get the model number off your motor unit so you can be sure you get the right keypad for your opener.

Only 1 remote will work at a time

One of your remotes has reverted to an earlier technology and they will no longer work with each other. You need to purchase a new remote making sure you get the same model number. Then you will find you can program 2 that will work with each other and 1 that will not. Remove the battery from the bad remote and toss it so that it doesn't cause problems down the road.
