This must be an epidemic. This happened to me also. We called tech support and they could nit help. I am sending the phone back and getting a new one. Time will tell.

same problem... worked initially but now the option is gone.. one way maybe to get around this would be to manually remove the micro SD and connect it to your computer via an adapter.. Still another cost incurred and extremely annoying!

Ignore the manual..It directs you to drill down into the settings for the sd card and set it as mass storage..no such option exists in the menu.
Follow this:
plug in usb
go to NOTIFICATIONS
touch the notification in the list that refers to the usb having been connected..you will receive a prompt to "mount" the sd card.
now you can access it.
viola.

I found the solution to that problem its because something was deleted when updated but heres how it works. first connect usb to phone and then connect usb to computer as soon as you do that on your phone select menu and then select notifications and then usb connect and everything should be fine.
Good Luck.

Hi. I took my moto g5 plus phone to Walgreens to upload photos to develop. It would not open. The workers have never seen a phone that you could not get the photos off to develop. Thanks

1.When you plugged in your phone to PC, did you slide down the notification bar on your phone and set USB settings to MTP mode?
2.Is your sd card formatted as internal or external storage? Have you tried to select MTP mode?
3.f you formatted the card as adoptable storage then you only have one folder. The whole point of adoptable is to create one storage area out of the internal and external sd card storage. From what I've read it seems like portable is a better option due to reliability issues with sd cards and the ability to read the card in another device. I just use my SD card for music and other files that are backed up someplace else.
When you look at the folder in Windows Explorer it should be the size of your internal storage and SD card combined.

Hope This Helps!! ,Best

I can't get anything to transfer to my 16gb sd card.

Hello Christie!
Make the SD card is inserted properly into the slot.
  • Go to settings on the phone then storage. Check there to see if the card and available memory is listed.
  • You will need to set up where your files ie music, photos etc... store on the phone. Choose SD Card.
  • Plug the phone into a USB port on your computer via a USB cable and select "USB Connected" so that you can transfer files to and from your phone.
  • Also you can select "As USB Storage" so you can view all other options.
  • If you can not see the SD card, it might be Defective. Or the cable is defective too.
Here is a link for the Blu Studio 5.5, it has the same features as your phone.
Best of Luck,
JP

Cannot download anything, insufficient space on device

Hi Izabel Maritz, I want to help you with your question, just answer each of the following to the best of your knowledge and follow the solutions. 1 Smartphone or not. 2 Removable media inserted? (Micro SD card) 3 Does the Removable media device show unused space? First and most importantly if you know a Micro SD card is installed with sufficient space to save your downloads then your phone settings are set to save downloads to 'local storage' and has filled to it's max. Often you can fix this easiest by removing the card for a few seconds and re-inserting it whilst the phone not 'locked'. Most phones will prompt you asking if saves should now be made to the SD card or to leave it at 'local storage' If you answer yes to each of the above numbered questions, it is likely the browser you are using is set to download to the incorrect destination. Try Solution A below. If answers no to questions 2 or 3 of the above question skip to Solution B. (Solution A) To check this open your browser and look for the settings menu. From here it will depend on the browser you are using, but you want to look for an option related to the following. 'download location' 'file destination' 'save to external media' If you have no success or need help finding the setting for your browser please provide me with browser name. If it is the cell phone provider browser that comes default on the phone then I will need the make and model of the phone. (Solution B) If no Micro SD card is installed to your phone I would recommend buying one they are inexpensive and provide a large amount of space for things on your phone. The average phone whether it is smartphone or not does not have much 'local storage' Other solutions for B, 1 Freeing space in your local storage. This means deleting things saved to the phone itself. Music, Pictures, Ringtones, Video's, Applications could be filling the phones local storage. 2 Freeing space on your 'external media' device. This means deleting things from your 'Micro SD card' (Note. If you plug a phone smart or not into a PC or laptop usb port you may move things rather than delete them. I can assist further with that as well.

Can't move things to sd card

One question. Were you able to move apps to the sd card before?
When you go to settings, storage, does it show the external sd card? I want to explain something first. The sd card is an expandable storage card, but it won't store your apps. If you want to check it out just insert the old memory card in a computer and look for any apps. Smartphones usually comes equip with 2 types of storage:
1. Internal phone memory: which could range from 500mb. to 2gb. of storage. This will be by default the location where the apps would be saved.
2. Internal SD Card: this is an expand storage that is already in the smartphone. Notice that when you see an ad for the phone it usually advertise whether it is 4, 8 or 16gb. That is the internal SD storage.
The third option is the external micro sd card, which is the one you are having problem with.
In storage under settings, see if you have an option to mount the sd card, maybe it's not mounted. You can also clon or copy everything from the old sd card to the new sd card using a computer, and then try it again.

I can not get my pictures on my sd card

Can you describe in more detail what you are trying to do, step by step, and how the process is failing?

I have uploaded and downloaded pictures from my micro-SD card, both while it is in the phone, using a USB cable and setting the phone to "Menu | Settings & Tools | Tools | USB Mass Storage". Then the phone and the micro-SD card appear on my (Windows) computer as a removable drive, and I can just copy files in either direction.

I am also able to remove the micro-SD card, and plug it into an SD-card slot on my computer (with a micro-to-SD card adapter), and it mounts as a removable drive that way, too.

Note: if you have the micro-SD card in the phone, and you want the pictures you take to be stored on there so you can download them in one of the ways I've described above, then be sure to go into "Menu | Settings & Tools | 9. Memory | 1. Save Options | 1. Pictures" and set this option to "Card Memory", or else your pictures will get saved in the camera internal memory, and not on the card. This may be your problem if you are not seeing the pictures you expect on your memory card when you look for them. If you take Videos and/or Sounds, you might want to set those "Save Option" to the Card Memory, too.

How do i upload pictures from the panasonic sv-av20

According to this description on Amazon, your model uses SD memory cards:
http://www.amazon.com/Panasonic-SVAV20-Digital-Camcorder-Camera/dp/B00008OLBN
Then you should have 2 options:
(1) The easiest is to remove the SD memory card from the SV-AV20 and insert it into an SD card reader (many available, starting from below $10). The SD card reader will have a USB connector so you can plug it into a USB port on your computer. Your computer (Windows or Mac) should recognize that you've inserted this and show the data on the SD card as a removable storage device.
(2) Clunkier option is to use the USB cable that typically comes with digital cameras -- these require the camera to be turned on. If you're unlucky, you may have to install camera-specific software on your computer to recognize the device. Since I hate adding extra software to my computer, I far prefer option #1 above, which works universally.
Hope this helps.
