Apparently you are not using glass slide mounts and your slide is popping in and out of focus. If you feel that it is working abnormally you can send it to service. In the USA Braun service is: HP Marketing Corp. PO Box 715 16 Chapin Rd. Unit 908 Pine Brook, NJ 07058 800-735-4373
